Almost everyone grins at the idea of a Premier Cru vineyard called "Behind Eddie's House," but that really is the translation of the name of this little-known vineyard. It lies on the Montagne du Ban above the village of St. Aubin on a mixture of Callovian limestone and Argovian marl. For my palate, this is always the best of Sylvain Langoreau's St. Aubins, but only available in tiny quantities. It is rich and floral on the nose, with more weight on the palate then his Vermarin al l'Est, and a lovely poise and balance. I like this wine a great deal! (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer)
