The "Cuvée de la Falaise" is Negly's mid level cuvee produced from a 15 hectare portion of Negly's 40 hectare vineyard; 5,000 vines per hectare; lutte raisonnee, green harvesting; yields at 25 hl/ha; 100% hand harvested and table sorted three times. After a 7 day cold soak @ 8-10 celsius, the juice is fermented in 50hl French oak tanks with a 45 day maceration; micro bullage during ageing; malo and ageing for 12 months in 50% new and 50% one year old, 300 liter French oak barrels from Seguin Moreau and Boutes. For the first time since the inception of this cuvee in 1997, Grenache represents the majority of the final blend at 55%. The balance is 45% Syrah. 3,000 cases produced. 15% abv.
