Veuve du Vernay Brut

SKU #1043404 Wine Enthusiast

*Best Buy* Pale and crisp, this has yeast and herb flavors, with a creamy character from the mousse. Light and just off-dry, this would make for a fine apéritif. (9/ 2012)

Clean, simple, floral, touch of sweet citrus. Surprisingly good for the price!

The quintessential sparkler for all your Holiday Party needs! Crisp, Clean, and round on the mid palate with essence of citrus fruit and ripe pear. These bubbles from France wont leave you or your guests unsatisfied. Perfect also for Sunday Brunch with Mimosa's, or making your favorite "Champagne Cocktail". My favorite is St. Germain, Bubbles, Fever Tree Club Soda, and a hint of fresh lime! Can be served in a flute or on the rocks! Yum!

“Girls” weekend in Palm Springs? Pool party? Celebratory get together? Any kind of get together? This is the sparkler that says 'celebration' without breaking the bank! Think Prosecco with attitude. Pale straw in color and lively with effervescence that releases aromas of fresh flowers and citrus. On the palate, delicate apple and pear flavors accompanied by a persistent mousse are there to see you through to a crisp finish. This can be enjoyed on its own or with a splash of freshly squeezed orange juice, white peach nectar, strawberry puree or go straight for the crème de cassis for a delicious Kir Royale. Even at the increased price of $7.99, this is a no brainer!

This is our best bargain in bubbles and the most exciting thing to come out of France since Jerry Lewis was awarded the Legion of Honor Medal in 2006. Very dry and crisp style. Ripe pear and apple notes. The perfect sparkling wine to drink when you're counting every penny.

I think this might be one of the best sparkling wine values the world over. The wine has undertones of grapefruit and guava with clean mineral notes. You would have to twice as much to get anything this close in quality.

This wine will impress you just by not sucking. It is clean, crisp, with round fruit and a pleasant finish. There is no way that anyone will turn down mutliple flutes of the Vernay, especially with orange juice or cassis. The bargain of the holiday season.
