92 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Galena is a blend of 35% Garnacha Negra, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 15% Carinena aged for 12 months in French and American oak. Purple-colored, it offers an enticing bouquet of cedar, spice box, earth, mineral, black cherry, and black currant. Supple-textured, ripe, and already complex, this easy-going effort is already delivering much pleasure although it will continue to evolve for another 2-3 years. Drink it through 2020." (02/08) 90 (+?) points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red. Smoky cherry and cassis aromas are complicated by tobacco and anise. Dense cherry and dark berry flavors are given grip by chewy tannins and turn sweeter with air, picking up sexy raspberry and vanilla qualities. Then shuts down quickly on the finish, with the tannins taking charge. Very promising, but this needs patience." (Sept/Oct '08)
