Tarlant "Zero" Extra Brut Rosé Champagne

SKU #1042388

From the masters of Champagne without dosage - the Tarlant family - comes a rosé with no dosage! This wine is composed of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir, making it the rosé with the highest proportion of white grapes in the entire store. The red wine is sourced from a very steep site in the Aisne department called the Fourachaux, and has enough power to make this rosé in every way - not just in its perfect salmon color. The nose has a subtle toast that reminds me of waffles, but it also has a creaminess and a cherry fruit from the Pinot. On the palate, the texture is weightless, and the finish is, as one would expect completely dry! (Gary Westby, K&L Wine Merchants)

WOW. This is DRY, but so delicious. Tangy hibiscus and rasberry fruits are initially shy, but gain volume and depth with some air (which will be especially apparent if this was in your fridge for over an hour, don't overchill this!) My favorite rosé champagne in the store, from one of my favorite champagne producers.

For the first time, we have been able to obtain some of this dynamite no-dosage Rosé from the house of Tarlant. With crisp acidity and minerality, this is the driest sparkling rosé that I have ever had. It is not a one trick pony, however. IO the mid-palate there are flavors of raspberries and cream to add to the interesting style of this bubbly. I first opened it in early winter of 2009 and actually had it open for two days. On day two, it fleshed out nicely and held up very well. Our customers also loved it when we featured on May 2nd.

Champagne

- The French region of Champagne (comprised of the towns of Rheims, Epernay, and Ay) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and winemaking traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range from the basic brut (often blends of several vintages), single vintage champagnes, and rose. View our bestselling Champagne.
