94 points Wine Spectator: "Powerful, with ruby grapefruit, ripe peach and piecrust flavors accented by white pepper and slate notes. Notes of blood orange and spice fill the pure-tasting finish. Drink now through 2017. 333 cases made." (12/08) Winemaker Franz-Josef Gritsch is quietly casting his little family-run winery among the Wachau elite. In the little village of Spitz he is producing wines of clear and precise character while retaining presence of place, minerality, pristine fruit character and a refreshing lively balance. This is one of my personal favorite Austrian Rieslings in the store; you should definitely not miss out on this opportunity to buy cheap and drink rich!!! (Eric Story, K&L Austrian buyer)
