90 points and an Editors' Choice, Wine Enthusiast: "This is a sort of second tier wine from Talbott. It's a strongly flavored Chardonnay and extremely ripe, with pineapple jam, apricot-infused creme brulee and sweet vanilla-butterscotch flavors. But for all the richness, it's crisp and bone dry. Easy to find, with 20,000 cases." (05/09) A youthful and vibrant wine named for the Talbott family's youngest daughter, Kalin Hart. This is a second label for the winery, launched in 1999, showcasing the cool-climate influences of the Santa Lucia Highlands, and it always sells out. The 2007 is straw-colored with watercolor-like shadings of emerald. Ripe and rich melon notes waft from the glass, carried along on a current of honeysuckle and apricot. On the palate, it's a farmers' market cornucopia of honeydew and Crenshaw melon with an undercurrent of pineapple and kiwi. Creamy on the mid-palate with refreshing acidity and touch of mineral, this is a fresh wine that captures youth and is meant to be enjoyed young. And, according to Wine Spectator: "Rich, concentrated and full-bodied, with a broad range of complex flavors, ranging from grapefruit and citrus to fig and honeysuckle, even a dash of pineapple. Drink now." (05/09)
