Turnbull's Old Bull isn't really more of the same ol' same ol'. The robust, intriguing blend combines the rich black fruit flavors of merlot with the high-toned cherry notes of tempranillo and sangiovese, the depth and structure of cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon and the briar notes of barbera and syrah. That's a lot of oomph jam-packed into this decadent bottling, balanced by oak spice imparted by 16 months in French oak. Give this wine some air if you drink it now, or lay it down to let all of those individual components continue to weave their harmonious blanket.
