2007 Skouras White Roditis/Moscofilero, Peloponnese, Greece (Previously $10)

SKU #1041213

This great value is a refreshing blend of Roditis and Moscofilero, two of the most important indigenous Greek whites. Roditis adds body and texture to the blend being fairly neutral in flavor, allowing the Moscofilero's highly aromatic and bright nature to shine through creating a delicious wine for times when you need something to quench your thirst.

This ranks as one of our top cheap, dry, refreshing whites for under $10. I love Greek wine because no one seems to ever be interested in it and, therefore, it's cheaper for me! This white is tart and tangy with a strong mineral undercurrent for balance. Perfect for seafood or appetizers. Easy drinking, cheap living!

Country:

Greece

- We have the Greeks to thank for introducing wine into Italy and France. And while the legacy of ancient Greek culture lives on, little recognition is given to its modern-day contributions to the wine industry. From the Peloponnese in the south, to Macedonia and Epirus in the north, and islands like Crete, Samos and Santorini, fine wine is once again being made and most of it from indigenous grape varieties not grown in other countries. Styles range from hearty, rustic reds to crisp, neutral whites and heavenly dessert wines. Click for a list of bestselling items from Greece.
