90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Valle Claro Rose comes from the newly created D.O. of Valles de Benavente. It is made from 100% Prieto Picudo, a grape variety which is starting to garner more attention. Dark pink in color, it has an expressive perfume of darker fruits including black cherry and black raspberry. Dry, very ripe, and concentrated, this Rose has lots of flavor and a lengthy finish. Sin-Ley means "without law"; the focus of the project is to innovate without being bound by D.O. regulations. The Rose series features wines from 5 D.O.s made with 5 different grape varieties." (Feb. 2008) From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Lurid pink. Exotically perfumed scents of black raspberry and dried flowers. Deep and round, with rich dark berry flavors and an exotic suggestion of candied flowers. Gains weight on the finish, with the dark berry note repeating. I'd serve this with rich, spicy foods, treating it like a light red wine." (Sept/Oct '08)
