Tasty white Burgundy at roughly half its original price. The "Solutré" is from South-East facing vineyards in the village of Solutré-Pouilly which is the heart of Pouilly-Fuissé. It's grown on sedimentary rock and clay limestone soils. A green-tinged golden-hued wine with delicate aromas of hazelnut, white flowers and fruit, it is soft and round in the mouth. Enjoy with diverse dishes made with fresh shellfish, fish or tangy goat cheese. From Wine Spectator: "A mix of ripe Chardonnay fruit and mineral aromas and flavors gives this white character. Vibrant and moderately long, with a fresh finish. Drink now through 2012. " (08/08)
