93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There were only 100 cases produced of the 2003 Cuvee Helena del Rio, a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Garnacha, and 20% Carinena aged for 14 months in new French oak before bottling without filtration. Dark ruby in color, it delivers an alluring nose of slate, scorched earth, wood smoke, black cherry, blueberry, and black currant preserves. Layered, ripe, and full-bodied on the palate, the wine has exceptional depth and length while revealing no ill effects of the unusually hot growing season. With enough flesh to be enjoyed now, it will also have a considerable drinking window of at least 10-12 years." (02/08)
