95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Acidity, blackcurrant fruits, dry tannins: all the hallmarks of young Cabernet Sauvignon in a ripe, layered complex wine that will develop into something extraordinary. A great wine." (06/06) 90-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red-ruby. Full-blown aromas of raspberry liqueur, dark chocolate and leather. Large-scaled, chewy and rich but with a fine-grained texture. This is silky and fat but not heavy thanks to surprisingly fresh acidity. Flavors of blackberry, plum, tar, tobacco and earth are joined by an almost roasted note on the back end. Finishes impressively rich and long, with big but thoroughly ripe, granular tannins. This had recently been fined but came across as fresh and delineated." (May/June 07) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of blackberry, meat and earth follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a rich finish. Decadent, balanced and very approachable already. I thought it would have been a little better than this. Best after 2014." (03/08) K&L's barrel tasting notes - Toasty oak aromas and flavors. Some tobacco. Good mouthfeel and texture. A bit tannic at the back. (Clyde Beffa, K&L Bordeaux buyer)
