BEST NEW WHISKY and BEST WHISKY 12 YEARS AND UNDER, 2009 Jim Murray's Whisky Bible Rating: 96.5 Points!!!!!! PC6 is a thoroughly original, heavily peated whisky (40ppm) distilled, matured and bottled at Bruichladdich Distillery. 18,000 numbered bottles are available worldwide. A year after the first bottling PC5, the cask strength has fallen by almost 2% of alcohol to 61.6% vol. The cuvée was put together by product director Jim McEwan. Controversially there are 6 different tin designs though the whisky is the same in each tin. The bottling carries the Gaelic Cuairt Beatha meaning the walk of life. The designs celebrate the contribution of the men who made the whisky led by distillery manager Duncan McGillivray, and assistant manager Allan Logan. Peter McDermid, Duncan McFadyen (The Budgie), Neil MacTaggart and Peter McCuaig distilled the spirit. Grant MacLellan, Andy Fisher, Wee Duncan, and Adam Hannett have nurtured it. "We wanted to celebrate the true spirit of Port Charlotte. To show the men behind the scenes who made this possible. They're now known as The Bruichladdich Bruisers." "These are the men that really made the whisky in the bottle. The photographs by John Ross were taken as they came to work. These are the characters - not models." - Message from Mark Reynier at Bruichladdich
