Joe and Lidia Bastianich are more than great restauranteurs (their empire includes a number of ventures with Iron Chef Mario Batali, including Pizzeria and Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles), they also own Bastianich Azienda Agricola in Italy's Friuli. Located in the Colli Orientali area, the region is known for its unique terroir and world class white wines. Tocai friuliano is an indigenous grape varietal grown in Friuli for hundreds of years. The vineyards for this bottling are located in the villages of Buttrio, Premariacco and Manzano and they are all handpicked. Medium-bodied, with ripe pear flavors with a refreshing mineral underpinning and zesty acidity, this wine is the perfect counterpoint to cured meats, full-flavored seafood dishes or with veal or pork dishes.
Below is a listing of the wine review scores we frequently reference in our notes. While these sources remain an excellent source of information, we always recommend that you trust your own palate. Scores in these publications often represent the personal taste of an individual critic, which may not always coincide with your own. We have a huge team of excellent wine professionals that can match wines you've had in the past with new arrivals that meet your flavor profile.
