With just a touch of sweetness on the entry, the '04 offering from Gauthier-Lhomme is impeccably balanced; showing round fruit up front, but sliding into the classic minerality and earthy finish that makes Vouvray the home of the world's finest chenin blanc. The peach and stone fruit aromas are faint, but the flavors make themselves known on the palate; continuing to develop long after the bottle has been open. A very nice offering for anyone looking for vintage Vouvray that is neither overly sweet, nor bone dry, or for anyone who likes delicious wine made from grapes!
