Superb wine-packed with ripe fruit-super long on the palate. Saransot-Dupré is produced only from the property's old vines and is traditionally aged in oak barrels. Marked by fully mature tannins joined together with a supple and round personality, qualities giving the wine an elegance that makes it easily enjoyable in its youth. This character comes from a vineyard planted mostly with merlot and cabernet franc. Contrary to the Médoc practice favoring a predominance of cabernet sauvignon. The Château's planting is actually a return to tradition since merlot and cabernet franc were the commmune's main grape varieties according to INAO when the Listrac appellation was created in 1957. 56% merlot, 24% cabernet sauvignon, 15% cabernet franc, 3% petit verdot and 2% carmenere aged in oak barrels, 30% new. K&L's Clyde Beffa and Ralph Sands love this wine. It sold out very quickly its first time around. Don't dawdle!
