With a production of 1,800 cases, the fabulous 2004 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is reminiscent of a top vintage of Mt. Eden Chardonnay with its floral, honeysuckle, mineral, and buttery fruit notes. It also reveals notions of roasted nuts, orange blossoms, and lemon oil as well as stunning concentration and definition. It should drink well for a decade. (12/ 2005)
Light gold. Slow-building pear, peach and nectarine aromas, with strong mineral and floral undertones. Subtle spice and smoke complicate fresh pear and pit fruit flavors; slowly unfolds to show more energetic citrus tones. Finishes precise and mineral-driven, with excellent length. 'Decant this and make sure it's not too cold,' Kistler advises. (6/ 2007)
Earthy and complex, with a subtle mix of loamy pear and apple fruit that has a creamy texture, finishing with good length and depth. (7/ 2007)
