Another value from the spectacular 2005 vintage. According to Robert Parker: "One of the stars of the Cotes de Blaye, Roland La Garde consistently produces serious, tasty, juicy, fruit-driven reds with increasing amounts of structure and wood as one moves from the Tradition, to the Prestige and Grand Vin..." (04/04) And, according to Wine Spectator: "Shows clean blackberry, currant, flowers and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a balanced, earthy finish. A gentle wine. Best after 2008." (Web 08) The Prestige is a blend of 70% merlot and 30% cabernet sauvignon, designed for easy drinking in the near term.
