The 2001 "Trailside Vineyard" Cabernet marks the 14th vintage from this renowned vineyard, in the Rutherford appellation of the Napa Valley. Known for its overall powerful Cabernet varietal aromas and flavors and hailing from a great vintage in the Napa Valley, this "Trailside" certainly delivers. Aged for three-and-a-half years in a combination of American and French Limousin oak, the ripe blackberry and cedar aromas and flavors the 2001 showed in youth are evolving towards greater complexity as fruit, tannin, and oak integrate with time in bottle. This elegant Cabernet only improves with age.
