94 points Wine Spectator: "There's pure crushed fruit on the nose, with raspberry, dark chocolate and berry. Full-bodied, with supervelvety tannins and a long, long finish. Has wonderful balance and richness. The best young red ever from this producer. Best after 2012. 2,500 cases made." (03/08) According to Robert Parker: "Stylish and elegant, this 2005 has as much in common with a Cote de Beaune premier cru as it does with a Pomerol. Kirsch, raspberry, seaweed, and loamy soil aromas lead to a medium-bodied, finesse-styled claret possessing sweet tannin, pure fruit, and a sensual personality. It begs to be consumed over the next decade." (04/08) According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red-ruby. Sweet aromas of raspberry, spices and smoky oak. Supple, sweet and pliant, but with lively acidity giving lift to the black fruit, spice and earth flavors. A graceful wine with good stuffing and sex appeal. Finishes with soft tannins and subtle persistence. A very successful vintage for this Pomerol." (May/Jun 06) ETA: Late Oct 2009.
