Gorgeous aromas of tobacco, meat and dried fruits. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a fresh fruit and earth finish. Another winner from Domaine de Chevalier. (8/ 2000)
The fully mature 1990 Domaine de Chevalier exhibits some sweet currant, loamy soil, roasted herb, and spice box notes in its surprisingly complex and noble, but evolved aromas. Medium-bodied with supple tannins as well as very good concentration, it should be consumed over the next 5-8 years. (6/ 2009)
Rich, ripe nose. Dense and velvety. Interesting - more layers than many of the wines. Round and gentle and layered. Subtle. Slightly volatile and slightly old-fashioned in structure and some rather dry, dusty tannins. Quite long. 17.5/20 points. (2/ 2006)
