Some good berry and tobacco notes, but it's slightly dry and lean compared to others. (1/ 1997)
Chris Kissack, TheWineDoctor.com: " A dark red-purple, glossy appearance. On the nose it has sweet, slightly confected blackcurrant and cherry fruit. The palate has bags of structure, with plenty of sweet, ripe, concentrated fruit. Massive tannins. Very backward. Needs seven to ten years." (7/2003) A medium-bodied but firm expression of Gruaud-Larose, a rare Bordeaux known for including all the region's varietals. Tight upon release, with savory herb, cherry, cassis and tobacco notes.
