Rather tough now, but with seriously good fruit concentration. Cherry and wet earth aromas. Medium-bodied, with full tannins and a tannic finish. Will improve with age. Best after 2002. (1/ 1998)
The 1995 and 1996 are two of the finest Glorias produced over recent vintages. Both the 1996 and 1995 are uncommonly hedonistic, plump, and precociously-styled wines. Low in acidity, rich in cedary, black currant fruit, medium-bodied, and lush, these two wines will provide delicious drinking young, yet both will age for 10-15 years. The 1995 is lower in acidity, and may not possess quite the density and power of the 1996, but readers looking for high class claret with immediate appeal would be foolish to pass it by. Both wines are sleepers of the vintage. (2/ 1998)
