Good red-ruby color. Sexy, highly aromatic nose combines black raspberry, licorice, mint, minerals and flowers. Classy, bright Pauillac, with suave dark berry and mineral flavors nicely shaped by firm acidity. Offers early sex appeal but has the structure for a long life in bottle. Finishes with ripe, spreading tannins and excellent grip and length.

Wine Spectator
Enticing blackberry and licorice character, with a tiny bit of tobacco. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a serious finish. Best after 2007.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Revealing classic cassis aromas, medium to full body, a firm structure with plenty of finesse...it should age well for 12-20 years, but patience will be required. Certainly the concentration appears up to the level of the tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2017.

K&L Notes
65% Cabernet, 29% Merlot, 5.5% Cab Franc, .5% Petit Verdot. Spicy wine. Curry and cumin aromas at property, more spice at Joanne, exotic, sexy, oriental spices on the nose at UGC tasting. Rich and big middle fruit flavors. Round and lush. Great wine. Buy it. Merlot shines through. As good as their 2000.
