Spicy mint and eucalyptus, cedar, oak and rosemary waft above rich berry jam aromas of this stately Cabernet. Mouth filling, with succulent fruit, soft tannins and toasty oak, here is a wine with a deliciously long, elegant, satin finish. Exclusively made from Trefethen estate grapes, the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is hewn mostly from grapes grown in the family's hillside "HaLo" vineyards, named for Hailey & Loren Trefethen. Gravelly, volcanic soil, strong sun, and ample stress result in intensely flavorful, concentrated berries. A balance of grapes from the estate vineyard surrounding the winery round out the wine. 95% cabernet sauvignon, 3% merlot and 2% cabernet franc aged for 17 months in barrel. According to Saveur magazine: "Big, elegant, complex, well developed, and exquisitely balanced - a masterwork from one of the most consistent of Napa wineries."
