Great wines at very good prices. That is what you get from Foxglove. This is a side project from Bob and Jim Varner, who bring us the great wines from the Varner and Neely labels. The Foxglove Cabernet is amazingly well balanced. Beautiful black and blue fruits with nicely integrated tannins and just a hint of fig and earth. A lot of wine for $13.99. "Mr. Robert Parker told me and several others in October of 2008 that the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignons from Napa Valley could be one of the greatest vintages ever! Here is our first entry." The 2007 Graffigna "Centenario" Reserve Malbec San Juan is one of my new favorite arrivals from Argentina. Mendoza is the most famous region in this country, but San Juan has an equally long history and can produce some delicious red wines. The basic Malbec Reserve has lush berry fruit typical of the grape’s style and has a great mouthfeel. It never sits heavy on the palate but it does let you know it’s there. 93 points Robert Parker: "The more limited production (600 cases) 2007 Chardonnay El Novillero Vineyard exhibits a distinctive smoky, hazelnut character intertwined with notes of orange marmalade/nectarine. The wine displays great ripeness, medium to full body, and beautiful acidity. It is a dead-ringer for a top-class premier cru Meursault. Consume it over the next 4-5 years.
