If whiskey is made from beer, it only follows that if you start with great, complex beer then you'll get great, complex whiskey. So the boys at St. George started off with a smoky brown ale made with heavily roasted barley, which imparts a nutella like aroma. The beer then gets the small batch distillation treatment and is finally aged in oak French oak and Port casks to suffuse the dram with soft vanilla and cocoa flavors and add texture to the palate.

The world's southern most whisky distillery opened in Dunedin in the late 1960's. The Willowbank distillery first produced two blended whiskies.
