Club Price: $21.99Bright and cheerful, with very pretty red fruit notes, this is simply charming. Located near the border with Chassagne Montrachet, in the best area of Santenay, this is rather Volnay-like, with fine elegant structure, pretty red and black fruit notes, and a lovely open character. This is, quite simply, charming Pinot Noir with a profound sense of place. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 02/09)

Club Price: $23.9990 points Robert Parker: "As I indicated last year, quality has improved dramatically at this estate, and the 2006 is a quintessentially elegant Bordeaux displaying a dark ruby/purple color, a lovely bouquet of forest floor, sweet cherries, cranberries, and black currants, medium body, a textured, sweet, tannic mouthfeel, and a long finish. Everything is beautifully pure as well as perfectly balanced in this outstanding effort. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025. Excellent value.." Bright and earthy, with a long and elegant finish. Marconnets is on the border with Beaune, on the slope above Narbantons. This has a full mid-palate, with lots of fine tannins, and an elegant structure. It was vinified with partial stems, and will age beautifully, or be lovely now with an hour in the decanter. Dark berry fruit notes balance the earthy and structured nature of the wine. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer, 07/09)

Club Price: $23.9990 points Wine Spectator: "There's lovely fruit in this wine, with berry, chocolate and plum aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. A very balanced Kirwan. Best from 2011 through 2016." (03/09) K&L's notes - 65% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot. Quite dark with sweet palate entry. Some meaty notes. Flashy style. * Ralph Sands: Super sweet fruit upfront. Balanced and firm on the finish. And on 01/23/09: tobacco and coffee aromas, toasty wine. Great palate impression. Lovely and best of all, in stock!

One of Ralph's favorites. 46% sauvignon blanc, 46% sauvignon gris and 8% muscadelle. Barrel-fermented and sur lies aged for 7-9 months. Here is a wine with the delicacy expected in white Bordeaux, but with good power and depth. The unusual addition of sauvignon gris adds to the aromatic intensity with notes of jasmine, mango and passion fruit. Toasty vanilla comes through nicely and adds to the long and delicate finish.

90-92 points Allen Meadows' Burghound: "Very mild reduction can't begin to suppress the elegant, airy and refined extract of red pinot fruit nose that merges seamlessly into rich and relatively full flavors that possess a supple mid-palate that firms up moderately on the sappy and mouth coating finish. This is pretty rather than truly profound though if it can add a bit more depth with time in bottle, that may change. For the moment however, this appears to possess very good to excellent potential." I didn't find the reductive notes that Burghound notic... Read More »
