Château Viranel is a small family run domaine located in the picturesque Languedoc appellation of Saint-Chinian. The domaine's rosé is perfect for an apéritif but is also ideal served throughout a meal because of its richness and volume on the palate. Pretty rose petal color. An intense nose of summer fruits (blackberry, raspberry, blackcurrant) and a fresh and fruity attack. Round mouth, smooth, very elegant. The finish is full-bodied and rich. A truly gastronomic rosé from 40% Syrah, 40% Grenache noir and 20% Cinsault, made by drawing off for Grenache ... Read More »

This elegant and crisp Pinot Rosé hails from Domaine Begude, a small family owned property located high in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the Limoux region of the Languedoc. The long cool growing season here lends itself perfectly to the production of crisp and delicate wines, and this stunning rosé is no exception. More in the style of a Loire Valley Sancerre rosé, this salmon colored pink beauty exhibits nuances of strawberries, plums and cherries, with just a hint of wet stone minerality. Enjoy with charcuterie, grilled tuna, a fresh salad..or just... Read More »

70% Syrah and 30% Grenache go into this medium bodied salmon pink number, whose color does little to prepare the taster for such a seriously juicy palate impression. Rich and concentrated, this is also impressively nuanced, and bright acidity makes it an ideal partner to all kinds of foods, fresh fish and white meat, to spicy cuisine.

This little baby is a real charmer! Made up of Pinot Noir and Gamay, there are blasting aromatics of bright, spicy red fruits and just a touch of creamy texture through the finish. Definitely a lighter style of rosé, but retaining depth and structure. Fantastic for a summer salad or just on its own.

We have been buying from the Millet family directly since 1994, and these wines have become favorites with you, our customers. The 2008 Rosé is 100% Pinot Noir and 100% delicious! I love Sancerre Rosé. No other pink can achieve the delicacy and finesse that a Pinot Noir rosé can. A lovely pale salmon color, this is dry and refreshing...and on a hot day in the yard with a nice salad or some goat cheese? That's what I'm talking about.

An expressive and exotic rosé, this manages to retain its signature terroir and balance between fruit and acidity. With bold flavors of peach and spiced strawberry flavors, the wine is perfect for summertime fun.

Loire rosé. Kind of a generic unimposing name for a wine that is this incredibly tasty. The Tijou family, proprietors of Chateau Soucherie, has a long history as "viticulteurs" in the Loire Valley region near Angers. In fact, they have practiced their craft, father to son, since 1780. In this rosé their experience with cabernet is evident. Strawberry and herb aromas rise up from the glass. On the palate these are echoed, along with a nice licorice note. Enjoy with picnic foods like chicken salad, smoked fish, green olives and un-aged cheeses.

The Domaine Le Galantin Rosé is a classic Provencal rose with delightful fresh berry fruit flavors and a crisp finish. It is composed of 50% Cinsault, 25% Mourvedre and 25% Grenache. After the grapes are hand-harvested from their organic vineyards, they cool down the bunches to 50 degress for a two day cold soak in order to extract fruit, color and aromatics. The juice is then racked off and the grapes are pressed to stainless steel tanks. 10% of the wine is Saignee, the rest comes from grapes treated as for making white wine.

By now, doesn't everyone know that France is home to the best dry rosé on the market? It may, however, come as a surprise to discover that more than a few of these wonderful pink wines hail from Bordeaux. The La Gatte comes from a saignee (bleeding) of the finest Merlot parcels. Free run juice is drawn off only three hours after fruit comes in from the field. Indigenous yeast is used, and the result is some the purest Merlot you will ever sample! Typically rich in alcohol, this rosé is vinified totally dry, and it makes a wonderful year-round accompanime... Read More »

Cabernet franc makes a very snappy, satisfying rosé, especially when such a wine is crafted by a star of the Chinon appellation, Maison Couly Dutheil. Served chilled, bien sur, this orange-flecked rosé is filled with delicate raspberry and wild strawberry flavors with a hint of mint and minerals. Fantastic with cold chicken preparations.

There is the appellation of Bandol with its plethora of producers, some good, some mediocre; and then there is Chateau Pradeaux, the unique, inimitable, standard bearer for this ancient wine-growing district. The Chateau Pradeaux is situated on the outskirts of the town of St. Cyr Sur Mer which lies directly on the Mediterranean Ocean between Toulon and Marseilles. The estate is owned by the Portalis family which has owned this property since before the French Revolution. The domaine is currently under the direction of Cyrille Portalis, who continues to ... A wonderful pale "eye of the swan" color, a fragrant, unmistakeably Pinot Noir nose and a dry, clean finish. Sound like something you might want for summer? Well so did I, so I was excited to find this available. The lovely fruit is followed by a long finish. Rich enough to drink with grilled wild salmon or Cornish game hens, but delicate enough for summer drinking. Delightful is the only word for this. (Keith Wollenberg, K&L Burgundy Buyer)

It is hard to take your eyes away from a glass of this birght and beautiful rosé, a blend of 1/3 Côt, 1/3 Cabernet and 1/3 Gamay. The color is kind of other-wordly, while the smell is downright heavenly, with wild strawberry and hard candy aromatics. Never fear, the palate is dry as can be, with red fruit notes and minerals. Imagine a pairing with melon and prosciutto, or grilled sardines. Aye. Is it dinner time yet?

Chateau de Lancyre is one of the finest domaines in the Languedoc wine district of Pic St. Loup. This dry Rosé is perfect for red wine lovers, offering ripe raspberries on the nose, with distinctive aromas (thyme, lavender, rosemary) typical of the sun-drenched Mediterranean garrigue. It is big, bold and firm on the palate, ending with a long and clean finish. 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Cinsault. Delicious! 13.5% abv.

Les Cabotières is a region planted with Pineau d’Aunis grapes, which are vinified in the same way as white grapes to produce a wine both round and fruity. This is a decidedly pale rose ‘onion skin' pink in color, spicy and fruity on the nose, supple and rich on the palate. This wine is an ideal summer drink to serve at a barbecue.

This bold and vivacious pink wine is just the thing for outdoor summer entertaining. 40% Syrah, 40% Cinsault and 20% Grenache. Parker gave the 2007 Rosé 89 points and had this to say: "The talented Jean Panis has not just crafted one of the tastiest French rose wines you will taste this year, and at an amazingly low price, he has demonstrated that you can achieve ripe flavors in Minervois (in pink, anyway) at barely over 12% alcohol. (Warning: Don’t open this if you are alone, because the bottle will be drained regardless!) ... this 2007 Minervois Rose b... Read More »

A lovely wine from a beautiful part of France, the 35-acre Domaine de la Fouquette sits at the heart of the Cotes de Provence appellation. This is an environmentally friendly estate that works without chemicals and hand harvests entirely. The cepage is 65% Grenache and 30% Cinsault. A small amount of the white grape Rolle (5% - aka Vermentino in Italy) is added, elevating the citrus aromatics and acidity.
This lovely Rosé of Pinot Noir is light pink, with fresh raspberry and strawberry aromas. Light fresh cherry nuances and fine acidity.
