2006 Chehalem "Stoller Vineyard" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (Was $45 elsewhere) Top Pick!
2006 Chehalem "Stoller Vineyard" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (Was $45 elsewhere)

92 points from Wine Enthusiast: "The Stoller vineyard bottling is a warm, rich and spicy Pinot Noir, with a sweet black cherry fruit core, concentrated and well-matched to the acids and tannins. A smooth and luscious midpalate continues to add flavors of butterscotch and toast, leading into a long and quite satisfying finish. Could be cellared for 6-8 years, but it’s hard to imagine it will ever taste any better than this." From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light, bright red. Pungent aromas of redcurrant, cherry skin and dried flowers, with a subtle note of black tea adding depth. Tangy red fruits on the palate, with a zesty bite of orange zest on the back. Refreshing, slightly tart and focused on the finish, where the redcurrant and orange notes repeat. There's zero excess fat on these bones." (May/June '09) From the International Wine Review: " This pale ruby, youthful looking wine shows red fruit and spice on the nose. 2008 Benton Lane Oregon Pinot Gris

93 points from Wine & Spirits Magazine and the top rated Pinot Gris in the 'Year's Best Pinot Gris' article: "This wine is a great example of a crisp and bright style of Pinot Gris. Exhibiting aromas of Asian pear, honeydew and citrus blossom, it is overtly fruity yet still complex for this wine variety. The flavors of tangy lime, comice pear and starfruit linger on the exceptionally long finish. A great 'warm weather' wine, it goes with simple appetizers and a wide assortment of seafood any time of the year." (08/09) Sometimes Chardonnay just won't do,... Read More »

2008 Broadley Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
2008 Broadley Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Broadley’s 2008 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley was bottled in June, 2009. A blend of three vineyards, it is a preview of just how good the 2008 vintage is in Willamette Valley. It offers up the superb perfume characteristic of the vintage; unlike 2007 in which spice notes dominate the aromatics, in 2008 fruit and floral aromas have the upper hand. On the palate it has layered, succulent cherry and raspberry fruit with excellent depth and balancing acidity. It has enough structure to evolve for several years bu... Read More »

2008 Evesham Wood Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
2008 Evesham Wood Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

After a challenging 2007 vintage in the Willamette Valley, the late 2008 harvest was quite welcome, creating a wine that is wonderfully balanced and intense. The '08 vintage comes from Illahe (40%), Mahonia (20%) and Eola Springs (40%) vineyards. This has slightly darker fruit notes than usual, with lots of ripe plum and briar fruits on the nose and secondary aromas of sweet earth and dried savory herbs, all of which continue onto the palate. Enjoyable now with some air, this will be fantastic with a little age too.

2007 Chehalem Willamette Valley Pinot Gris
2007 Chehalem Willamette Valley Pinot Gris

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Another exceptional effort from Chehalem in 2007, this stainless steel fermented wine offers crisp, clean and racy flavors of fresh cut pear, lime skin, hints of apricot and a thrilling minerality. As it rounds off a bit in midpalate, it introduces hints of honey that continue into a finish that demands another pour. Alcohol clocks in at a sensible 13.6%." (02/09) "Smart Buys" designation from Wine Spectator: "Light, silky and appealing for its pear and gentle spice flavors, lingering on the open-textured finish. This is spec... Read More »

2007 Argyle Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is medium ruby-colored with an enticing bouquet of toast, cinnamon, rose petal, cherry, and cranberry. Sweet and seamless on the palate, this elegant effort has a bit of structure, excellent concentration, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Drink it over the next 6 years." 2008 Sineann Oregon Pinot Gris (375ml)
2008 Sineann Oregon Pinot Gris (375ml)

"We may have just as well called this Sineann Wyeast Vineyard Pinot Gris, as 100% of the fruit came from the venerated vineyard!" Wyeast is the Native American name for Mt. Hood, Oregon's famed snow-peaked mountain. Dick and Christie Reed's vineyard is on a slope not far from the mountain, and it has the sunny, crisp fruit you'd expect for a vineyard at 1,600 feet in elevation. Slightly herbaceous, this is freshing with a kiss of minerality and tangy fruit on the palate.

2005 Argyle Willamette Valley Brut
2005 Argyle Willamette Valley Brut

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Argyle’s sparkling wine portfolio begins with the 2005 Brut, composed of 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay. Medium straw-colored, this biscuity bubbly has tons of flavor, plenty of minerality and superb length. It is a great value in high class sparkling wine (and that includes Champagne). While the focus of this report is on 2006 Pinot Noir, it is undeniable that Argyle Winery is producing among the best sparkling wines made in the USA and they cannot be ignored. Argyle is also the hangout of veteran vigneron Rol... Read More »

2008 Raptor Ridge Willamette Valley Pinot Gris
2008 Raptor Ridge Willamette Valley Pinot Gris

From Wine & Spirits Magazine: "This racy gris opens with scents of peach blossoms and green apple. The palate is driven by pear flavors, its juicy texture dusted by a chalky stone element. It has the energy to match smoked trout and fennel." (08/09)

2006 Chehalem "Reserve" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
2006 Chehalem "Reserve" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

92 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Reserve is a selection of the best barrels in the cellar. In this vintage 80% of the wine came from the Ridgecrest Vineyard and was aged in 50% new oak. The nose exhibits pain grille, mineral, earth notes, lots of spice, and assorted red fruits. Silky on the palate, this elegant offering has excellent depth, succulence of fruit, and is surprisingly lush for the vintage. Drink it from 2011 to 2019." (10/09) 90 points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Dark berrie... Read More »
