The current winemaker’s blend of Ink Grade Port consists of six different Portuguese grape varieties from our Ink Grade Vineyard. It is a rich and flavorful Port reflecting the intrigue and distinctiveness of each variety. The harmonious blend is mostly from the 1998, 1999 and 2000 vintages with just a splash of the 2001 for some youthful fruitiness. This is a luscious Port packaged in a traditional Port bottle with a classic label that is glazed directly on the bottle. Please enjoy this unique Port produced in the Napa Valley.

Sweetness. Like the most sinful dessert in liquid form, the 2005 Dolce, from the folks at Far Niente, satisfies our craving for sweetness with some hidden surprises. A combination of late harvest sémillon and sauvignon blanc from the foggy town of Coombsville, east of Napa, the Dolce is Napa's Sauternes-style dessert wine, with its earthy, botrytis underpinning and joyful acidity. Wonderfully food-friendly, this will pair well with foie gras, poached figs, cheeses, chocolate or crème brulee. Or cellar and watch the wine evolve.

Obtuse is Justin's fortified, cabernet sauvignon-based dessert wine. Ruby-hued with sweet raspberry and cherry aromas and flavors balanced by sumptous, bittersweet chocolate notes. Because it's fortified, this will hold, opened, for about six months under proper cellar conditions, developing tawn Port-like characteristics.

On the nose, the Meyer Family Port displays aromas of baked fruit and cooking spice, along with warm notes of alembic Zinfandel brandy. Rich and round on the palate, its lush flavors of sweet cassis and brandied cherries are framed by integrated oak and fine acidity. This delicious Port has a long, concentrated finish and pairs beautifully with artisanal blue cheeses, intense chocolate desserts, or a good cigar.

A handcrafted dessert wine made from select plantings of Black Hamburg Muscat grapes. The resulting wine is an unctuous sweetie with a rich bouquet of berries and spice that continue onto the palate along with chocolate covered cherries. Great with artisan cheeses and fresh berry desserts.

A slightly different stlye than the last two vintages of Vinferno, which took their sweetness from botrytis - aka noble rot - something that did not occur in 2008. Instead the Grenache Blanc and Roussanne fruit from Arroyo Seco's Beeswax Vineyard was dried on mats for three weeks before crush and fermentation. That concentrated the sugars and added the sweetness that makes this wine a delight. Juicy apple, pear and quince aromas with an undercurrent of dried apricot, hazelnut and lavender honey on the finish.

The Pacific Rim Vine de Glaciere is made from Riesling grown at the Selenium Vineyard, picked at about 22.5% sugar; the grapes are then frozen to concentrate the juice. The resulting wine is sweet with pear, melon, mango and honey notes and a kiss of horseradish-like spice and earthy clove. Riesling's natural acidity helps balance the sugar.

This is thick, ripe and concentrated with creamy flavors of huckleberry, blackberry, espresso roast, dark chocolate, vanilla and allspice. With 20% alcohol by volume and 10.5% residual sugar this jammy, sweet wine is a dead ringer for a young vintage Port. This is the same Gewürztraminer dessert wine as the 2006 "Les Vigneaux" but no longer carries that or "Ice Wine" on the label. Nonetheless, the wine is sweet and lovely, made with frozen grapes to concentrate the flavors.
