90% Syrah, 10% Zinfandel, pure Dry Creek Valley. This kitten is a fun and delicious pale red wine with flavors of strawberry and dark cherry. The rosé is bone dry, with rosés on the nose and subtle pepper on the finish. The grapes were picked solely to be used in this rosé, so the alcohol is low, the flavors are sharp and the acidity is lively. Perfect with salumi, fruits, chocolate or picnics!

Feminine and stylish, a fragrant perfume of fresh strawberries and rose petals precede ripe, juicy flavors of cherry, raspberry and citrus zest. Fruity yet dry, this refreshing wine is reminiscent of the lovely dry rosés served in seaside café along the French Riviera. Grapes for this Rosé were harvested at a lower brix to ensure a light wine that pairs elegantly with food. Immediately after being picked, the grapes are brought into the winery, crushed and destemmed. For color extraction, the grapes are cold soaked for 48 hours before the juice is separa... Read More »

Since we love Beckmen's Grenache - it's easily one of the best domestic productions for the price - it's no surprise that we love their food-friendly 2008 Grenache Rosé. Muskmelon, strawberry and watermelon notes move like Grace Kelly from the nose to palate with a kick of cherry and cookie spice to turn up the volume. Refreshing, dry and crisp, you'll want to have chilled bottles of this around all summer long, and long into the fall.

The Pinot Noir fruit for Etude's Rosé comes entirely from the winery's estate in Carneros, and the quality of the fruit shows this refreshing, summer wine's character. Full of red berry fruits on the nose, with a hint of blood orange, the palate pleases with fresh strawberry, rhubarb and cherry fruit with an underlying hint of minerals. Good acidity and a crisp, dry finish make this a great complement to picnic or barbecue fare. According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: 'Pale orange. Understated red fruit and citrus aromas are complemente... Read More »

From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Silver-pink. Chalky redcurrant and strawberry aromas are complicated by blood orange and honeysuckle nuances. Racy, juicy, finely etched citrus and red berry flavors turn sweeter on the back end. Way too easy to drink: this has the freshness and delicacy to work with raw shellfish, or on its own." Whether you call it rosé or vin gris, the pink stuff has finally reclaimed its rightful place at the American table. This one is made entirely of Napa Syrah, fermented and aged for 3-4 months in a combination of neutral French oak and stainless steel barrels. This vin gris smells like early summer - stone fruits and wild strawberries - and the aromas carry over to the palate. You'll want to have some of this in your stash for barbecue season…but there were only 100 cases produced, so don't miss it.

From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light pink. Energetic aromas of blood orange, strawberry, dried rose and minerals. Extremely fresh, with bracing citrus and red berry skin flavors and good bitter cut and bite. The floral note recurs on the impressively pure and incisive finish." (Jun. 09) This is a rosé that makes you think of flip-flops and picnic blankets. Made in the traditional saignee-style, the juice is bled off tanks of single-vineyard Pinot, fermented in stainless and aged for just four mnths in neutral oak to soften the edges. T... Read More »

What makes Bonny Doon's Vin Gris de Cigare so fresh and wonderful is the addition of Grenache Blanc to the blend, something the winery has been doing since 2003. Not typical for Vin Gris, but since when has Bonny Doon made anything typical. Enjoy this while picnicking, poolside or at the Hollywood Bowl, or on the curb munching on your favorite taco truck taco.

From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, medium pink. Wild strawberry and blood orange on the nose. Lively red berry flavors are gently sweet, with refreshing back end-lift and snap. The blood orange note repeats on the long, incisive finish. This is energetic enough to work by itself but also has the punch to handle assertively seasoned dishes." (Jun. 2009)

This is the sixth vintage of Buoncristiani Rosé, made from Syrah sourced from vineyards in Oak Knoll and Coombsville as well as the famed Stagecoach Vineyard. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak. Fruit forward with aromas and flavors of raspberries, black cherries, spice and flowers. A refreshing complement to barbecue or picnic fare.

90 points Robert Parker: "The Central Coast’s answer to a full-bodied French Tavel is Samsara’s 2008 Grenache Rose. Aromas of strawberries and cherries along with surprising body, firm acidity, and a hint of tannin are found in this dry, flavorful, well-structured rose. It should drink nicely for 12-18 months." The Dragonette Rose is composed of the free run and saignee juice of their Pinot Noir and Syrah. They also blended in a splash of Sauvignon Blanc for a little extra aromatic lift. The wine has a broad range of flavors ranging from strawberry, grapefruit and watermelon. Lovely balancing acidity and you have the perfect aperitif for California's sunny days.

Storybook Mountain has always been the king of Zinfandel in California. Jerry has made fantastic wines, year after year, for decades. The Zinfandel Rosé is a wonderful wine. You have never tasted a Zin Gris like this. Patterned after the dry rosé wines of Provence, this wine is aromatic and deeply flavored. Great acid and a brilliant wine for the summer or enjoying with a pork roast or salmon for dinner. (Mike Jordan, K&L Wine Merchants)
