92 points from Wine Enthusiast: "The Stoller vineyard bottling is a warm, rich and spicy Pinot Noir, with a sweet black cherry fruit core, concentrated and well-matched to the acids and tannins. A smooth and luscious midpalate continues to add flavors of butterscotch and toast, leading into a long and quite satisfying finish. Could be cellared for 6-8 years, but it’s hard to imagine it will ever taste any better than this." This is a beer for your favorite beer geek, beer snob or all-around libation afficianado. It might also get your girlfriend to like beer, if she doesn't already. A limited release, the 2009 Abyss marks the fourth release of this Imperial Stout, with hints of molasses, roasted malt and anise and a rich, creamy palate. While it might be hard not to drink this 11% ABV immediately, it's actually meant to age. So make sure you buy a bottle or two to lay down for a year, two or even a decade.

From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light, bright red. Pungent aromas of redcurrant, cherry skin and dried flowers, with a subtle note of black tea adding depth. Tangy red fruits on the palate, with a zesty bite of orange zest on the back. Refreshing, slightly tart and focused on the finish, where the redcurrant and orange notes repeat. There's zero excess fat on these bones." (May/June '09) From the International Wine Review: " This pale ruby, youthful looking wine shows red fruit and spice on the nose. Just in time for the holiday season, legendary Oregon fruit distiller Steve McCarthy brings you his best liqueur yet: Clear Creek Cranberry. I have been anxiously and impatiently awaiting this elixir since I got the chance to sample it at the distillery four months ago. This is not the sugary-sweet, syrupy substance you probably are expecting. This cranberry liqueur captures the pure tart and tangy essence of the berry itself, with just enough sweetness to balance it out. It's juicy, supple, and incredibly addicting. It's going to blow you away and ... Read More »

From the International Wine Review: "This is a good value, entry level Pinot Noir showing a medium ruby color and aromas of mushroom and earth with a violet note. It’s quite light but silky on the palate with some dark cherry fruit flavor and finishes with just a touch of sweetness." (April 2009) One of our go-to pinots when we're looking for something tasty that won't break the bank. Every vintage of A to Z Pinot Noir delivers and the 2007 is no different. 93 points from Wine & Spirits Magazine and the top rated Pinot Gris in the 'Year's Best Pinot Gris' article: "This wine is a great example of a crisp and bright style of Pinot Gris. Exhibiting aromas of Asian pear, honeydew and citrus blossom, it is overtly fruity yet still complex for this wine variety. The flavors of tangy lime, comice pear and starfruit linger on the exceptionally long finish. A great 'warm weather' wine, it goes with simple appetizers and a wide assortment of seafood any time of the year." (08/09) Sometimes Chardonnay just won't do,... Read More »

90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Broadley’s 2008 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley was bottled in June, 2009. A blend of three vineyards, it is a preview of just how good the 2008 vintage is in Willamette Valley. It offers up the superb perfume characteristic of the vintage; unlike 2007 in which spice notes dominate the aromatics, in 2008 fruit and floral aromas have the upper hand. On the palate it has layered, succulent cherry and raspberry fruit with excellent depth and balancing acidity. It has enough structure to evolve for several years bu... Read More »

After a challenging 2007 vintage in the Willamette Valley, the late 2008 harvest was quite welcome, creating a wine that is wonderfully balanced and intense. The '08 vintage comes from Illahe (40%), Mahonia (20%) and Eola Springs (40%) vineyards. This has slightly darker fruit notes than usual, with lots of ripe plum and briar fruits on the nose and secondary aromas of sweet earth and dried savory herbs, all of which continue onto the palate. Enjoyable now with some air, this will be fantastic with a little age too.

Drink this tasty effort through 2017." 90 points Wine Spectator: "A bit darker and denser than most, this is aromatic with spicy pear notes, hinting at tobacco and cardamom as the pear and melon flavors linger. "We may have just as well called this Sineann Wyeast Vineyard Pinot Gris, as 100% of the fruit came from the venerated vineyard!" Wyeast is the Native American name for Mt. Hood, Oregon's famed snow-peaked mountain. Dick and Christie Reed's vineyard is on a slope not far from the mountain, and it has the sunny, crisp fruit you'd expect for a vineyard at 1,600 feet in elevation.
