Gigondas. Even the name sounds burly, bringing to mind fairy tale giants or perhaps a French version of a lumberjack. This one, however, made by Cecile Chassagne, is a more feminine style of wine that nonetheless offers lots of rich, black fruit and a full-bodied plumy finish. 70% grenache, 15% mourvèdre and 15% Syrah.
