Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (94WE, 93W&S). Wine Enthusiast: " *Editors' Choice* As always, Lynch-Bages comes in with an impressive performance. It is rich, dense and ripe with black fruit flavors. The texture is solid, the intense fruits complemented by ripe tannins. And, to finish, there is the freshness of currant fruit acidity. A really fine wine." (06/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95CG, 95WS, 92WE, 91ST, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This historic estate has been on a qualitative tear of late, and their 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is, once again, the 'Chateau Margaux of Napa Valley.' Beautiful black currant and spring flower aromas jump from the glass of this dark opaque ruby/purple-colored beauty. With gorgeous texture, stunning purity, elegance and equilibrium, with nothing out of place, this is another tour de force from Spottswoode. Despite its current accessibility, it has 15-20 years of longevity ahead of it. It is a glorious wine! (RP)" (04/2014)

2004 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Aged 20 months in 72% new French oak, this blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc comes from a great vineyard on the valley floor in Oakville, just south of Rudd Estate and Plumpjack. The wine’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a beautiful, Pauillac-like (think Pontet Canet or Mouton), ethereal perfume of creme de cassis, or as Michael Broadbent used to say, 'celestial black currants,' full body, a velvety texture, fine tannins, a multidimensional mouthfeel, and a terrific finish. While there were no real surprises tasting this wine, I was somewhat intrigued by just how youthful the 2004 Screaming Eagle is showing. I had expected it to reveal slightly more evolution. I thought the 13% Merlot in the blend would push the evolution more quickly. The finish lasts for a full minute. As it has been in just about every vintage, the 200

2004 Ausone, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Ausone, St-Emilion (98W&S, 95WS, 94RP, 93ST). Wine & Spirits: "Tasted from barrel in 2005, this was among the best wines of the vintage, with limestone-soil character coming through the fresh brightness of fruit. Ausone was all potential energy then, and it has only improved in the two years since. The wine shares the resonant depths of the ancient limestone caves at Ausone, as the flavors echo through the finish. It starts off from a small place, a sweet confection that brings roasted blueberries to mind, the caramelized oak tasting like the edge of charred fat on extremely fine grilled beef. Over the course of several days, the wine becomes increasingly more subtle and serious in tone, with delicate red fruit, gracious mineral-inflected tannins and detailed flavors that last effortlessly. This Ausone will live for decades." (10/2007)

2004 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (94ST, 93RP, 93WE). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep, bright ruby-red. Deeply pitched aromas of black raspberry, violet, gunflint, tobacco, tar and cola. Lush and sweet... deeper and more concentrated than the "regular" James Berry bottling but less evolved. Finishes with superb breadth and viscosity, but has the ripe acids-not to mention the rocky minerality-to maintain its shape and balance. Wonderfully deep wine." (10/2006)

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 2004 Latour, Pauillac (1.5L) (97WE, 95RP, 95WS, 94ST, 93JS). Wine Enthusiast: "There are tannins, structure and power, but also supreme elegance. The 2004 acidity comes through in the sweet cassis flavors, supported at the back by dry tannins. Currently, the wine is closed up, losing some of its fresh fruit, but this is a moment in its slow evolution towards a classic Latour. " (06/2007)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Leonetti "Reserve" Walla Walla Valley Proprietary Red (97RP, 97WE, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are only 670 cases of the 2004 Reserve, a wine composed of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot (a grape which does amazingly well in the Walla Walla and Columbia Valley AVAs). It spent 22 months in a combination of new French barriques and larger French oak. The aromatics feature pain grille, floral elements (especially violets), truffle, spice box, cassis, and black currants. Supple-textured, dense, and full-flavored, the wine has enough structure for up to a decade of cellaring and should drink well through 2040. " (08/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Rochioli "East Block" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((95-97RP), 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rivaling the profound West Block, the 2004 Pinot Noir East Block boasts a slightly more saturated dense ruby/purple-tinged color, and plays it slightly closer to the vest. On the palate, it explodes with flavor intensity, depth, and length. Layered, rich, and full-bodied, this profound effort will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age, and keep for 10-12 years or longer." (12/2005)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Catherine Occidental Station boasts a glorious dark ruby/purple-tinged color as well as an extraordinary nose reminiscent of a Comte de Vogue Musigny Vieilles Vignes. Aromas of crushed rocks, violets, raspberries, sweet cherries, and a distinctive terroir character are present in this full-bodied effort. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 95WE, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon 'Galitzine Vineyard' comes from the fourth leaf of this estate vineyard and is the first release of the wine, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it has a superb bouquet of pain grille, scorched earth, truffle, walnuts, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur which leaps from the glass. On the palate it is sweet and rich with layers of spicy black fruit flavors, terrific balance, and a 45+ second finish. It does not have quite the weight and depth of the flagship Cabernet but keep in mind that this is the product of a young vineyard only beginning to express its enormous potential." (08/2007)

This is still very primary yet oozes class and refinement but even so it will clearly require a few years in bottle before it's really ready for prime time. A complex, expansive bouquet displays smoky herbs, dark berry liqueur, red- and blackcurrant, potpourri and an exotic apricot pit quality. Lush, pungent dark fruit and floral pastille flavors are complemented by smoky herbal and floral qualities and framed by supple tannins. 2004 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin Grand Cru (93BH, 92ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The difference between Chambertin and Clos de Bèze is sharply etched in 2004 as this is cooler, bigger, richer and more powerful though less elegant and with a more limited range of spices specifically and aromatic breadth in general. The medium full flavors are reserved, tight, precise and very pure with extraordinarily good punch and precision, all wrapped in a firm, dusty and linear finish. I particularly like the mouth coating quality of the flavors as there is ample dry extract here, which serves to perfectly buffer the firmly tannic spine. Outstanding stuff and while not a truly great Rousseau Chambertin, it's knocking on the door." (01/2007)

Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet perfume of black cherries, cassis, and flowers. But it still keeps the elegance and some of the freshness of 2004, and there is plenty of blackberry flavor to push the wine along. Heavier than many 2004s, it still shows that great acidity." Wine Enthusiast: "In keeping with its place on the boundary of Morey Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, this Bonnes-Mares marries the refinement of great Chambolle with the more tough, powered character of Morey. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs, poured from magnum, has a deep garnet color. It feels stubborn and obdurate on the nose, as Clos des Ducs can do, with blackcurrant leaf and subtle marine influences that become more pronounced with aeration. Chase Creek, a tributary of the Napa River, runs through both the S.L.V. and Fay vineyards, the source of two long-time single bottlings from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. The winery recently completed a five-year rehabilitation of Chase Creek, restoring the ecosystem to the benefit of both the estate vineyards. The counterpart to the "Fay Apologue" wine, which is sourced from the part of the vineyard that is further away from the creek on more volcanic soil, this wine shows the alluvial qualities in the soils found on the western side of the vineyard.

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Standish "The Relic" Shiraz-Viognier Barossa Valley South Australia (99RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More exotic and flamboyant than the Shiraz, but equally profound is the 2004 Shiraz/Viognier The Relic (93% and 7% respectively, cropped at .5 tons of fruit per acre, and aged 20 months in old French oak). An inky/purple-colored, powerful, full-bodied, rich red, it possesses a huge, sweet nose of blue and black fruits, flowers, and subtle oak, a blockbuster mid-section, and an amazingly long finish. More approachable than the 2003 Shiraz, it can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years. Dan Standish is one of the Barossa’s up-and-coming superstars, and his wines merit serious attention.
