2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Grenache
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Grenache (97RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sine Qua Non’s 2008 Grenache Estate The Duel boasts extraordinary richness, power and sheer depth. Tobacco, leather, mint and spices are woven together in this large-scaled Grenache. There is plenty of intensity here, but the 2008 has just a touch less aromatic definition than the very finest wines at Sine Qua Non. I imagine some of that may be the result of extended aging in oak. The 2008 is 82% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 2% Viognier and 1% Roussanne, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills. A portion of the Grenache was fermented using whole clusters. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. (AG)" (08/2012)

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras, LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras, LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95WS, 94RP). Wine Spectator: "Starts out bold and assertive, with rich dark berry, cedar and nutmeg flavors, revealing touches of espresso, mocha and melted black licorice. Well-built, tight and persistent, this will benefit from short-term cellaring. (Insider, 03/2015)"

2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Occidental Station--SWK Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Occidental Station--SWK Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As good as the Cuvée Catherine is, there is another Occidental Pinot that is also profound. The 2012 Pinot Noir SWK Vineyard also comes from his 65 acres planted in Occidental. This is a 1,000-case cuvée from a site that sits above the Bodega Headlands Vineyard. With a dark ruby color like its siblings, it is made from 100% Calera and sees only about 30% new French oak. This wine offers a copious mouthful of red, blue and black fruits, medium to full body, terrific acidity, and intense black raspberry and black cherry fruit along with spring flowers, forest floor and spice box. This is a stunning, super-complex, compelling Pinot Noir to drink over the next decade or more." (01/2015)

1999 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Margaux, Margaux (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sexy, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Margaux is already revealing complex aromatics. This surprisingly charming and round offering is reminiscent of a vintage such as 1985. Although neither a blockbuster nor a heavyweight, it grows in the mouth revealing tremendous length as well as purity. Administrator Paul Pontallier prefers it to the more austere 1998, as do I. This is an archetypical Chateau Margaux of richness, finesse, balance, and symmetry. It can be drunk young, but promises to age nicely for two decades. Extrapolating backwards, it would probably have something in common with the underrated 1962 Medocs. (RP)" (04/2002)

2006 Frederic Esmonin Chambertin Clos de Beze
Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 2006 Frederic Esmonin Chambertin Clos de Beze. From the importer: "Esmonin is becoming one of the most consistent, high quality producers in Gevrey. They are now using a new bladder-press and have excellent control over the amount of pressure exerted on the grapes, which are picked only when they have reached ideal ripeness. After a short cold maceration gives the wines an extra dimension of fruit, they are aged in carefully selected French oak barrels of Allier and Nevers forest wood made by Radoux and Berthomieu, two of the very best coopers. Wines are aged in barrels of varying age and toast and then blended in order to achieve optimum balance and complexity." Frederic Esmonin on the 2006 Vintage: "Yields were “about the same as in 2005 with approximately a 10% loss due to hail. Sugars ranged from 12 to 13% and Burgundy lovers will find much to like as the wines are supple, round, approachable and fresh, indeed very terroir in character.” (Burghound, Jan

1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 96AG, 96JS, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a deep ruby/plum color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-60 years. (97+) (RP)" (06/2009)

2012 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JS, 100RP, (95-98ST), (95-97AG)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Screaming Eagle is composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Made in the classic, iconic Screaming Eagle style that the original proprietress, Jean Philipps, first showcased in the early 1990s, before the winery was sold to Stan Kroenke, the inky/purple-colored, seamless 2012 possesses an extraordinary set of aromatics consisting of pure blackcurrant liqueur, licorice, acacia flowers, graphite and a subtle hint of new oak. Full-bodied, opulent and voluptuous, this profound wine is as prodigious as I thought it would be last year when tasted from barrel. It should age effortlessly for 20 or more years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Proprietary Red
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Proprietary Red (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The riveting 2007 Howell Mountain exhibits aromas of black raspberries, blueberries, crushed rocks and flowers along with full-bodied power accompanied by an ethereal delicacy and sublimity that make it a haunting wine to smell and taste. It should drink well for 25+ years. I am increasingly impressed with Abreu’s Howell Mountain Proprietary Red wine. The blend tends to be about two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, 20-25% Cabernet Franc and 10-15% Merlot and Petit Verdot. A completely different animal than the Cappella or Madrona Ranch (which both come from lower elevation vineyards), this cuvee reveals extraordinary notes of crushed rocks and a liqueur of minerals in a steely, full-bodied, powerful style that possesses both intensity and finesse. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100RP, 97ST, 93WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Ark Vineyard (1,300 - 1,400 cases) from Howell Mountain is one of the great efforts from this high elevation terroir. It offers notes of burning embers, black raspberries, blueberries and flowers, a full-bodied opulence, wonderful intensity, but the wine is not weighty or overripe. Fleshy and voluptuous with terrific floral notes, it should drink well for 15-20 years." (12/2010)

2004 Sloan Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Sloan Napa Valley Proprietary Red (98RP, 96WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Sloan’s spectacular inky/purple/garnet color is followed by notes of high quality espresso roast, chocolate, black currants, truffles and a striking minerality. Full-bodied and super-rich with that roasted character that one finds in Cote Rotie and some of the great Haut-Brions from Pessac-Leognan, this full-bodied, rich 2004 is a super-star of the vintage. Although the tannins are elevated, they are extremely sweet and well-integrated. This spectacular 2004 is performing even better now than it did following bottling. It is also one of the more developed and evolved vintages of Sloan, no doubt because that was the nature of the 2004 vintage. Drink it now and over the next two decades. Anticipated maturity 2014-2034. (RP)" (04/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (100JS, 100WS, 98RP, 95ST, 95W&S). Wine Spectator: "*Collectibles, #5 on the Top 100 Wines of 2003* Absolutely fantastic. This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Las Cases has always wanted to make first-growth quality in a top-notch vintage, and it certainly did in 2000. Best after 2012. " (03/2003)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Syrah (99RP, 97AG, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A prodigious effort that possesses overflowing richness and depth, the 2008 Syrah The Duel (88% Syrah, 6% Grenache and 6% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard) delivers an off-the-hook drinking experience with decadent cassis, blackberry, smoked meats, crushed flowers and hints of spice all soaring from the glass. A full-bodied, unctuous Syrah that stays fresh and elegant, with vibrant acidity, it needs a solid decant if drinking anytime soon and will see its 20th birthday in fine form. Drink now-2028. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 2" Central Coast Syrah. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Syrah Cumulus Vineyard is impeccably silky and refined. Dark fruit, camphor, licorice, smoke and mocha flesh out in this gorgeous, delineated wine. The 2008 impresses for its length and persistence. Today, the 2008 is more refined and elegant than when I tasted it a year ago. The 2008 is 82% Syrah, 13.5% Grenache and 4.5% Roussanne (all destemmed) that spent approximately 32 months in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023." (08/2012)

It continued to develop nuances for most of the day. This is a compelling, very classic, great wine (94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot), of which 411 cases were produced with no fining or filtration. 2010 La Violette, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 2010 La Violette, Pomerol (100RP, 96ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sadly, there's not a whole lot of production to this microscopic estate in Pomerol, but the name says it all. The awesome aromatics include not only raspberries, black cherries, and blackberry, but also the floral perfume of an haute couture house. Its terrific aromatics are followed by a wine with quintessential elegance married to almost unbridled density of fruit, all presented in a flawless and seamless concoction of full-bodied power, elegance and purity. This is a riveting wine and certainly one of the great classics to ever be produced by this tiny estate. Kudos to proprietress Catherine Pere-Verge. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035." (02/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (99JS, 99RP, (96-98WE), 98WS, 97ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It will be fascinating to follow the evolution of the 2009 Cheval Blanc versus the 2010 as well as the awesome 2005, 2000, 1998 and 1990. This famous estate’s vineyard is situated at the juncture of Pomerol and the sandy, gravelly soils of St.-Emilion, facing the two noble estates of l’Evangile and La Conseillante. A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, the 2009 Cheval Blanc tips the scales at just under 14% natural alcohol. Its dense blue/purple color is accompanied by an extraordinary nose of incense, raspberries, cassis, sweet forest floor and a subtle hint of menthol. Opulent and full-bodied with low acidity but no sense of heaviness, this dense, unctuously textured, super-smooth, velvety, pure, profound Cheval Blanc is impossible to resist despite its youthfulness. Of the 2008 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2008 Chardonnay Monte Bello emerges from the glass with layers of rich, varietal fruit supported by firm minerality and just a touch of French oak. The Monte Bello spends an additional three months in neutral oak and therefore also sees more stirring of the lees, yet it remains fresh, vibrant and beautifully focused all the way through to the finish. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. It offers stunning aromas of strawberry, citrus peel, tree fruits and minerals. It’s whole cluster fermented, from vines that have been picked and grown specifically to be a rosé—not a saignée. 2007 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95JS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort. The production was 13,500 cases of this 100% estate fruit blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. The alcohol came in at 14.5%. The growing season was nearly ideal, with early bud break, generous flowering, a bountiful crop size, and summer weather that was warm and dry with no significant heat spikes. According to the Phelps winemaking team, the cluster grape weights in 2007 came

There is some potentially worrisome astringent tannin in the finish, but the wine's depth augers well for this begin ultimately resolved and integrated. (RP)" (10/2003)

2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94RP, (91-94ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the best wines of the vintage, this is a classic Pauillac that is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot. Dense ruby/purple in color with a glorious nose of melted licorice, lavender, barbecue smoke, black currants, and graphite, the wine is tannic, classically structured with an opaque ruby/purple color, beautiful definition, and a 1996-ish personality. This deep, full-bodied, elegant yet powerful 2002 should age handsomely for over two decades. Some patience will be required since this vintage exhibits more muscle and virility than normal. 2009 Peter Michael "Ma Belle-Fille" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Peter Michael "Ma Belle-Fille" Knights Valley Chardonnay (95ST, 93RP, 91WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Hazy yellow. Heady, exotically perfumed bouquet of dried pear, peach pit, candied lemon, iodine and smoky lees, plus a suave floral quality and a touch of anise. Enters rich and weighty but quickly gains tension, offering zesty citrus and orchard fruit flavors and an intense, almost saline mineral underpinning. Finishes smoky and extremely long, with the iodine and pear notes echoing. I find the interplay of richness and minerality to be really intriguing." (06/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This historic estate has been on a qualitative tear of late, and their 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is, once again, the 'Chateau Margaux of Napa Valley.' Beautiful black currant and spring flower aromas jump from the glass of this dark opaque ruby/purple-colored beauty. With gorgeous texture, stunning purity, elegance and equilibrium, with nothing out of place, this is another tour de force from Spottswoode. 1997 Fisher "Wedding Vineyard" Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Fisher "Wedding Vineyard" Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The potentially perfect, opaque purple-colored 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard (400 cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is made from 27-year-old vines, and is aged in 100% new French Taransaud barrels. This prodigious Cabernet Sauvignon has only gotten better since my tasting last year. The finest Cabernet I have tasted from Fisher, it represents a California interpretation of La Mission Haut-Brion. The wine offers sweet, tobacco-infused, scorched earth, blackberry, and blueberry notes, with a liquid minerality. The aromatics are matched by the immense, concentrated, seamless, staggeringly rich, powerful palate. This wine will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring, and keep for 35-40 years. A modern-day California legend, it is one of the most profound California Cabernet Sauvignons ever made on the Sonoma side of California's North Coast viticul

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Lucia "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir (96RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The gorgeous 2008 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard (with about 25% whole clusters and a slightly increased use of new French oak--50%) is great stuff. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with notes of plums, black cherry, black raspberry, and currant, with hints of graphite and subtle smoke, the wine is complex, fleshy, and exuberantly California in style, but with unmistakable Pinot Noir authenticity--richer, denser, and more velvety textured than almost any Burgundy that readers are likely to run across. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Bedrock Wine Company "Pagani Ranch Heirloom" Sonoma Valley Red Blend (93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Pagani Ranch Heirloom Wine is stunning. It boasts incredible concentration and depth in its black fruit. This site sees wider temperature swings than the Bedrock Vineyard, which in large part explains the wine’s flavor profile and structure. This is a deep, serious wine with many years of aging potential. Sweet exotic spices, licorice and tar wrap around the eternal finish as this huge wine reveals its dazzling pedigree and explosive personality. The field blend in Pagani Ranch is 65% Zinfandel, the rest Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir, Carignane, Mourvedre and assorted red and white grapes, all planted in 1880. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (95RP, 93BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard tends towards a dark red, almost black expression of wild cherries. It is an intensely coiled, powerful wine in need of a few years of cellaring. The mineral notes speak very clearly in this pointed, beautifully articulated Pinot. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume begins to emerge, but the best is years away. The chiseled, pure finish leaves a lasting impression. 2005 Harris Estate "Jake's Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Harris Estate "Jake's Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I first had these impressive wines when I tasted them with winemaking consultant Mark Herold. These are hillside terroirs at the northern end of Napa Valley. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Jake’s Vineyard (15% alcohol) is a young, virile and masculine style of Cabernet Sauvignon, with loads of minerality, blackberry fruit, damp earth and coffee as well as a full-bodied mouthfeel. Still youthful and promising, the wine is just beginning to enter its plateau of maturity, where it should stay for a good 15-20 years.
