Bid on this bottle of 2002 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 boasts an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, violets, blackberries, creme de cassis and hints of charcoal and barbecue in addition to a full-bodied, multilayered mouthfeel that builds incrementally with great purity, staggering fruit concentration, and a long, velvety, 50+-second finish. 2012 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95AG). Antonio Galloni: "The 2012 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is the most complete of these Pinots. It is also by far the most intense. Dark red cherry, plum, spice and menthol notes all take shape in the glass. The style is broad, ample and super-ripe. Amazingly, with time in the glass, the wine comes together very nicely, but it really does need a lot of time. A juicy, boisterous finish rounds things out. The UV-SL is the Pinot that most clearly defines Mark Aubert's deeply personal approach to Pinot Noir." (02/2014)

2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1,580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvedre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure and elegant, with lots of fine tannin emerging on the finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and have 15-20 years of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

Creamy and expressive through to the finish, the 2013 should continue to drink nicely for at least another handful of years. Complex, highly fragrant aromas of peach pit, melon and candied orange, with intense mineral and iodine qualities gaining power with air. Sappy and expansive, offering vibrant pit fruit, pear and anise flavors lifted by zesty minerality. Rich but lithe and stony, finishing with excellent clarity and a persistent note of bitter citrus pith. I was strongly reminded of a serious Chablis." (05/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Cayuse "Edith" Walla Walla Valley Grenache Rosé (92WE). Wine Enthusiast: "A beautiful copper color, deep and dense. Modeled on the wines of Provence’s Domaines Ott, this rosé was designed, says the winemaker, to age. It’s whole-cluster fermented from Grenache vines that have been picked and grown specifically to be a rosé—not a saignée. Compact, compressed and powerful with an emphasis on the mineral subtext, light peach and strawberry highlights. " (02/2011)

It is an exuberant, full-bodied, pure Cabernet that should drink well for 25+ years. Given the vintage and the sweetness of the tannin, it is atypically accessible already. (RP)" (12/2009)

1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1966 Montrose, St-Estèphe. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1966 is still dark ruby with a peppery, very spice, yet tight, relatively closed bouquet. The wine is austere and tough on the palate, with good fruit and firm, rough tannins. Comparatively, it is not as massive or as rich as the 1970, 1964, or 1961, but is still backward and austere. 2001 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2001 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the flagship wines of the late Jess Jackson’s Artisans and Estates limited production offerings is the 2001 Cardinale, a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot from some of the finest Jackson-owned vineyards on Mt. Veeder, Keyes on Howell Mountain, Alexander Mountain Estate as well as purchased fruit from the Stagecoach, To-Kalon and Peter Michael vineyards. This sensational, layered, opulent, voluptuous 2001 (the last vintage in which any fruit from Sonoma was used in the final blend) boasts a dense purple color along with a big, rich perfume of kirsch, creme de cassis, subtle toasty oak and incense. No shy wine at 16.2% alcohol, it is a dense, savory, delicious red that is loaded with roasted meat, spicy pepper and red as well as black fruit characteristics and cuts an unctuous, juicy, thick swath across the palate. Rich and full-bodied with exquisite purity, an ethereal elegance yet serious substance, texture and length, this is an example of great winemaking and viticulture. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Rivers-Marie "B.Thieriot" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep, full gold. Candied aromas of quince, orange and honey. Honey and butterscotch flavors suggest a bit of botrytis, but a firm spine of acidity keeps the wine from cloying. This rounded out nicely with time in the glass. In fact, says winemaker/proprietor Thomas Brown, the pH of 3.35 is on the high side for this wine, which is made with natural yeasts and no lees stirring." (06/2011)

2008 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99JS, 96WS, 94ST, 93RP). James Suckling: "Like listening to cool mellow rock 'n' roll. Extraordinary aromas of violets and dark fruits such as blueberries and currants. I can't get over the aromas here. Then it goes to minerals with just a hint of bay leaf. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins with a beautiful softness and beautifulness. I love the balance and harmony to this with bright acidity. I would drink this before the 2007. Just under 1,000 cases of 12 but all sold in threes. Reminds me of Leoville Las Cases but with Napa brightness. Enjoy or hold for a long time." (06/2011)

1961 Pontet Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1961 Pontet Canet, Pauillac (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The best bottles exhibit rich, deep color, with a full-blown, ripe, deep bouquet of spices and plums, viscous, round, supple flavors, and the sumptuous length that typify this great vintage. Now fully mature, the good examples of this wine will last a decade. Certainly the best Pontet-Canet I have ever tasted. The wine performed splendidly at a vertical tasting at Pontet-Canet in 1990. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted, 4/90. (RP, Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition)" (04/1990)

Of the 2010 Walter Hansel "South Slope Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2010 Pinot Noir South Slope, from a site that is only four feet away from the North Slope, is much more tense and mineral-driven in style. Crushed rocks, graphite, dark red cherries and tobacco sit on a core of firm yet beautifully integrated tannins. There is a weightlessness and transparency in the South Slope that is beguiling. 2007 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault "Clos de la Barre"
Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault "Clos de la Barre" (91BH, 91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale color. Discreet aromas of soft citrus fruits and powdered stone. Juicy and tightly wound, with a captivating floral perfume in the mouth. For a wine with a light touch, this finishes with impressive thrust, not to mention aromatic persistence. Lafon calls this his favorite Clos de la Barre in a long time, noting that he also likes the 2000 very much." (09/2009)

2010 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96AG, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Teasing the taster with a possible three-digit perfection is the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. This beauty shows lots of creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur, spring flower and forest floor notes in an opulent, full-bodied, powerful, dense, rich style buttressed by significant ripe tannins and decent acidity. Again, the striking purity and singular character of this Bryant Cabernet Sauvignon oozes potential as well as pedigree. This spectacular, young Cabernet should turn out to be one of the all-time great Bryant Cabernet Sauvignons, rivaling their 1997, but slightly more structured. Forget this one for 3-4 years and drink it over the following three decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Allora "Lusso" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from Allora's estate vineyard in St. Helena. From the winery: "After only five years, this may be the most complex and layered Lusso to date. This wine is made from clone 15 and is stunning, full of bright and long lasting fruit, ripe berries and dark chocolate. This wine never goes into a stainless steel tank and is barrel fermented with wild yeast from the grape skins. Lusso is a highly extracted and decadent wine that indulges your entire palate in pure luxury. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and ages beautifully."

2011 Aston Estate Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Aston Estate Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir Aston Estate is gorgeous. Sweet red berries, hard candy, crushed flowers, spices and tobacco are some of the many notes that are woven into this attractive, floral Pinot. The 2011 offers an attractive combination of minerality and that distinctive expression of fruit that is so typical of the Sonoma coast. This is a gorgeous effort. In 2011, yields came in at just one ton per acre and the harvest finished on October 2, exceedingly late for Pinot. (AG)" (12/2012)

2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Grenache
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Grenache (97RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Sine Qua Non’s 2008 Grenache Estate The Duel boasts extraordinary richness, power and sheer depth. Tobacco, leather, mint and spices are woven together in this large-scaled Grenache. There is plenty of intensity here, but the 2008 has just a touch less aromatic definition than the very finest wines at Sine Qua Non. I imagine some of that may be the result of extended aging in oak. The 2008 is 82% Grenache, 14% Syrah, 2% Viognier and 1% Roussanne, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills. A portion of the Grenache was fermented using whole clusters. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. (AG)" (08/2012)

2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Occidental Station--SWK Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2012 Occidental (Kistler) "Occidental Station--SWK Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (98RP, 97AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As good as the Cuvée Catherine is, there is another Occidental Pinot that is also profound. The 2012 Pinot Noir SWK Vineyard also comes from his 65 acres planted in Occidental. This is a 1,000-case cuvée from a site that sits above the Bodega Headlands Vineyard. With a dark ruby color like its siblings, it is made from 100% Calera and sees only about 30% new French oak. This wine offers a copious mouthful of red, blue and black fruits, medium to full body, terrific acidity, and intense black raspberry and black cherry fruit along with spring flowers, forest floor and spice box. This is a stunning, super-complex, compelling Pinot Noir to drink over the next decade or more." (01/2015)

1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1982 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (97RP, 96AG, 96JS, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a denser version of the 1990 that stylistically reminds me of what the young 1959 probably tasted like. Still backward with a deep ruby/plum color revealing only a touch of lightening at the edge, the wine offers up an extraordinary nose of caramelized herbs, smoke, cedar, pen ink, black currants, and earth. The gorgeous aromatics are followed by a full-bodied, plump, rich, fleshy wine with low acidity. With 6-8 hours decanting in a closed decanter, it will offer beautiful drinking, but it needs another 5-8 years to reach full maturity. It is capable of lasting 50-60 years. (97+) (RP)" (06/2009)

2006 Frederic Esmonin Chambertin Clos de Beze
Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 2006 Frederic Esmonin Chambertin Clos de Beze. From the importer: "Esmonin is becoming one of the most consistent, high quality producers in Gevrey. They are now using a new bladder-press and have excellent control over the amount of pressure exerted on the grapes, which are picked only when they have reached ideal ripeness. After a short cold maceration gives the wines an extra dimension of fruit, they are aged in carefully selected French oak barrels of Allier and Nevers forest wood made by Radoux and Berthomieu, two of the very best coopers. Wines are aged in barrels of varying age and toast and then blended in order to achieve optimum balance and complexity." Frederic Esmonin on the 2006 Vintage: "Yields were “about the same as in 2005 with approximately a 10% loss due to hail. Sugars ranged from 12 to 13% and Burgundy lovers will find much to like as the wines are supple, round, approachable and fresh, indeed very terroir in character.” (Burghound, Jan

1999 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Margaux, Margaux (94RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The sexy, dark plum/purple-colored 1999 Margaux is already revealing complex aromatics. This surprisingly charming and round offering is reminiscent of a vintage such as 1985. Although neither a blockbuster nor a heavyweight, it grows in the mouth revealing tremendous length as well as purity. Administrator Paul Pontallier prefers it to the more austere 1998, as do I. This is an archetypical Chateau Margaux of richness, finesse, balance, and symmetry. It can be drunk young, but promises to age nicely for two decades. Extrapolating backwards, it would probably have something in common with the underrated 1962 Medocs. (RP)" (04/2002)
