2006 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A star of the vintage is the 2006 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Mon Aïeul. It is hard to believe how great this wine has turned out to be. I called it last year, and I’m thrilled to see how utterly profound it is. Essentially very old vine Grenache from three different terroirs (the sands of Les Serres, the clay of Guignasse, and the limestone of La Crau), aged 80% in cement tanks and 20% in old barrels, it boasts a dense plum/purple color followed by a glorious bouquet of black cherries, blackberries, truffles, lavender, licorice, and spring flowers. The color is one of the darkest of the vintage, and the wine is extremely full-bodied and rich with intense levels of extract and tannin, but the latter is gorgeously sweet and well-integrated. Still young and primary, this 2006 will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age, and drink well for 15-20." (10/2008)

Of the 2009 Rivers-Marie "Occidental Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Good deep ruby-red. Sour cherry, bitter chocolate and violet pastille on the nose, plus a whiff of strawberry liqueur. Thick, sweet, large-scaled and rich, with concentrated cherry and fragrant mint flavors. The wine's color, breadth and tannins suggest very strong dry extract. Finishes with classic dryness and impressive aromatic persistence. "The flowering on the coast was difficult," noted Thomas Brown, "and it seemed like every other berry had no juice. The

Of the 2011 Paul Lato "Il Padrino - Bien Nacido Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Harvested in the first week of November, with tiny yields, the 2011 Syrah II Padrino Bien Nacido Vineyard is flat-out gorgeous. Fermented with 20% stem inclusion and richer and more masculine than the Larner Vineyard, with ripe raspberry, ground pepper, toast, underbrush, roasted meat and big crushed stone-like minerality, it flows onto the palate with a medium to full-bodied, firm and structured feel. Still playing in the house style of highlight elegance and finesse over power and richness, it needs another 1-2 years of bottle age and will have 12-15 years of ultimate longevit

2000 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2000 Ridge "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95AG, 92ST, 90RP). Antonio Galloni: "Do you want the good news or the bad news? Well, Ridge's 2000 Monte Bello is still not ready to drink. Huge, rich and voluptuous, but backed up be serious structure, the 2000 is still a very, very young wine. Readers who own the 2000 should be thrilled. With time in the glass, the 2000 starts to open up a little bit aromatically, but the tannins remain imposing. Hints of tobacco, iron, smoke, savory herbs, leather and licorice all add nuance on the close. This dramatic, brooding Monte Bello will likely drink well for another three decades. In 2000, Montebello is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. " (07/2013)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Kistler "Vine Hill" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((94-96RP), 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Hints of ripe pears, lemon butter, tangerines, and crushed rocks emerge from the 2004 Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard, an elegant yet authoritatively flavored effort with a striking minerality, zesty acidity, and a spectacular finish. The good news is that there are 2,700 cases of this cuvee. (RP)" (12/2005)

2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Aubert "Eastside Vineyard" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((98-100RP), 95AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Chardonnay East Side (1,000 cases produced) comes from a vineyard owned by Ulises Valdez and planted with the Montrachet clone. It is the rockiest site in the Aubert portfolio. Amazingly, it sees 100% new oak, but you would never know that from smelling or tasting the wine. Copious aromas of wet rocks, almond paste, honeysuckle, pineapple and white peach are followed by a full-bodied, stunningly rich yet crisp, vibrant, zesty Chardonnay that should drink well for a minimum of 10 years. 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A superb entry level effort that has not only layers of fruit and texture, but solid back-end structure, the 2010 Red Wine is a declassified blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, yet has 15% Merlot and a splash of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in there as well. Up-front, perfumed and intense, it offers up spice-laced red and black fruits, toast, cedar, vanilla and hints of chocolate to go with a full-bodied, mouth-filling and voluptuously textured palate. Lacking the polish and elegance that can be found in this estate’s upper tier efforts, it nevertheless has superb fruit, ripe tannin and serious length. Enjoy it while you wait for this estate’s other wines to mature. Drink now-2020." (06/2013)

2013 Peter Michael "La Carriere" Knights Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Peter Michael "La Carriere" Knights Valley Chardonnay ((92-96RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A smaller crop than normal because of a 20-30% loss of fruit from wind damage explains the production of the 2013 Chardonnay La Carrière. However, there are still nearly 2,000 cases of the 2013 (as opposed to 2,510 of the 2012), which exhibits lots of powdered mineral, honeysuckle, and orange marmalade characteristics, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, crisp acidity and impressive purity. Bid on this half-bottle of 1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml) (100JS, 100RP, 99WS, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-black colour. An incredible array of aromas on the nose: blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, espresso, leather, black olive and loam. The palate is absolutely seamless from first impression to finish, effortlessly building layers of complexity in the mouth and leading to a very long, earth and spice finish. Bid on this bottle of 2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS, 93AG, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection exhibits an opaque purple color, slightly more toasty oak in the aromatics, and explosive richness on the attack, mid-palate and length. The nose is slightly more restrained than in the regular bottling, but there is no doubting the Special Selection is a cut or two above the Napa bottling when it hits the palate. Extraordinary purity of fruit, creme de cassis, licorice and incense all emerge from this full-bodied, iconic classic. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2008 Cayuse "Camaspelo" Walla Walla Valley Proprietary Red (96RP, 95WE, 90ST). 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Camaspelo is made up of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot. Fresh herbs and spices, earthy minerals, cassis, and black currant aromas lead to an elegant, stylish Catherine Deneuve of a wine. This finesse-filled effort will provide pleasure through 2023." (08/11) 95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Good concentration, with tight-knit purple and black fruit flavors, a streak of espresso, and the characteristic herb and mineral flavors of the vintage. Very fresh, clean, muscular and still compact, with concentrated blackberry fruit that pops up and broadens out in the finish." (11/11) 90 points Stephen Tanzer: "Red-ruby. Boysenberry, black raspberry, cola, smoke and a whiff of meat on the nose. Velvety, saline and rich; drier and a bit less focused than the Flying Pig but nonetheless generous in the middle palate. 2009 Bodegas J A Calvo Casajus "Nic" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Bodegas J A Calvo Casajus "Nic" Ribera del Duero (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Casajus NIC is the top wine, sourced from a single 1.5 hectare plot that yielded less than 2,500 kilogram per hectare (NIC, by the way, is the abbreviation of Nicolas and Catalina, Jose Alberto’s children.) It is raised in new 500-liter Allier barrels over 18 months. It has a very intense nose of raspberry, fresh strawberry, maraschino and blood orange that effortlessly embraces the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte, succulent tannins, the oak playing a complementary role (in my opinion, the use of larger barrels moderating their influence.) It is struck through with outstanding acidity and wonderful minerality toward the finish. It shimmers in the mouth: so much purity you want to cry. It may be eye-wateringly expensive, but it is one of Ribera del Duero’s finest wines. Drink 2014-2025. " (02/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 2010 Rhys "Alpine Vinyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (1.5L) (94ST, 93RP, 91BH). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark ruby. Exotic, intensely perfumed black raspberry and cherry aromas are complemented by cola, star anise and licorice. Juicy, impressively precise dark fruit flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and a slow-building blood orange quality. At once supple and lithe, finishing with outstanding energy and an array of dark berry and floral nuances." (05/2012)

The biggest, richest, fullest-bodied Lynch Bages until the 2000, the fully mature 1990 exhibits an unbelievably explosive nose of black currants, cedarwood, herbs and spice. One of the Jackson family’s top Bordeaux-styled efforts year in and year out, the superb 2003 Cardinale is performing even better than I remember, having put on weight and filled out. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red (96RP, 95CG, 94ST, 94WS). The final blend (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) has a deep purple color, a beautifully sweet nose of blackberries and cassis intermixed with some meatiness, smoke, and a touch of pain grille as well as notes of espresso and licorice. Full-bodied, rich, with decent acidity, excellent delineation, and moderately high tannin, this is a beauty that should evolve for 25-30+ years It is no wimpish wine at 15.2% natural alcohol, but that is buried beneath a cascade of gorgeous fruit and glycerin. The wine's massive richness, full body, and super-intense, concentrated fruit make for a spectacular, unctuously-textured, backward wine. As it sat in the glass, some of the mountain blueberry notes came forward. This Cabernet requires 4-5 years of cellaring, and should keep for 25-30 years ... at the minimum." (01/2000)

This blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, from one of Napa’s prestigious sites on the valley floor tucked behind the town of St. Helena, has a dense blue/purple color and a beautifully sweet nose of spring flowers intermixed with raspberry jam, blueberries and black currants. Some licorice and subtle oak are followed by a quintessentially elegant yet substantial wine with sweet tannins, medium to full body and a seamless texture. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2005 Catena Zapata "Adrianna Vineyard" Malbec Mendoza (OWC - 97RP, 93W&S, 93WE, 93WS, 92ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Malbec Adrianna Vineyard was also aged for 18 months in new French oak. Opaque purple/black, it is more expressive aromatically as well as more structured than the Nicasia cuvee. Opulent on the palate, it is dense and extracted with gobs of spicy black fruits and enough structure to unwind for another 6-8 years. Drink this lengthy effort from 2015 to 2030. (JM)" (12/2008)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2008 Blankiet "Paradise Hills Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (95RP, 94ST, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 82.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and the rest tiny dollops of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, the 2008 Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red has added considerable richness, weight, texture, nuance and complexity over the last year. Aromas of chocolate, espresso, blackberries, black currants and charcoal/burning embers leads to a full-bodied, expressive, rich wine that is nearly as compelling as the 2007. Dense, full-bodied and already drinkable, it should evolve for 20+ years. (RP)" (12/2010)

Blackberries, cassis, leather, cedar and tobacco are woven together beautifully in this nuanced Cabernet Sauvignon. The essence of crushed rocks, violets and licorice wrap around the insistent finish. Sweet floral notes add layers of aromatic brightness on the close. 2004 Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "La Combe d`Orveau"
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004 Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "La Combe d`Orveau" ((91-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " If I had to nominate one wine as the top sleeper in Faiveley's considerable 1er portfolio, it would be this one. It's not always the best but it's always in the running for top honors and in 2004, it runs the table with its supremely high-toned aromas of ultra pure red pinot fruit nuanced with spice and tea notes. The flavor precision is so intense that it etches itself into the palate and is expressed almost as a rectilinear quality yet there is much better density here than most wines possessing this kind of delineation. In sum, this has that 'wow' factor with superb complexity and a stunningly refined demeanor. Buy it." (01/2006)

Impressive for its structure and depth. Best from 2010 through 2017." (11/2009)

2006 Harris Estate "Treva's Vineyared" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Harris Estate "Treva's Vineyared" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 89ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The strongest 2006 cuvee is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Treva’s Vineyard. It reveals a dense purple color along with more upfront fruit than its two 2006 brethren, and cedar-infused black currant flavors revealing a scorched earth note in the background. This opulent, fleshy 2006 has more in common with a 2007 than the general muscle-laden character of most 2006s. Stunningly rich and fruit-forward, it is low in acidity, but riper with sweeter tannins than its peers. Drink it now or cellar it for twenty years. " (08/2008)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The closed, but promising 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard exhibits a dense purple color and massive tannin and fruit as well as good acidity. It needs 5-6 years of cellaring, and should last two decades or more. " (12/2009)

2009 Maybach Family "Amoenus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Maybach Family "Amoenus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus, which I previously tasted from barrel when it was a lot more open, has shut down completely (as a lot of 2009s seem to be doing). Full-bodied and rich, it reveals notes of damp earth, blackberries and creme de cassis as well as a distinctive terroir character. Although there are elevated tannins, they seem relatively sweet and not the least astringent. Nevertheless, this cuvee has gone into a firm, closed state and several years of bottle age is recommended. It should keep for 15-25 years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aieul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The profound 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul (85% Grenache and the rest equal parts Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault) tips the scales at 15% alcohol. From an old vineyard and cropped at 15 hectoliters per hectare, and aged only in foudre, it boasts a dense purple color in addition to an exquisite nose of violets, minerals, blueberries and blackberries. Pure and concentrated, but atypically tannic, it requires considerable aging as it is one of the vintage's more backward, broodingly powerful efforts. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020." (02/2003)

Of the 2009 Paul Lato "Alegria - Hillard Bruce" Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Vivid ruby-red. Vibrant red and dark berries on the nose, with sexy Asian spices, fresh rose and bright minerality adding complexity. Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2009 Saxum "Paderewski Vineyard" Paso Robles Proprietary Red (97RP, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Paderewski Vineyard is a new bottling from a site Smith developed for Bill and Liz Armstrong, the owners of Epoch. Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Sirah and Mourvedre are planted in separate plots but co-fermented. Layers of dark fruit meld into flowers, mint, sweet spices, menthol, eucalyptus and plums, with marvelous density and harmony. This shows superb aromatic complexity and tons of nuance to match its absolutely striking personality. It is a dazzling effort, especially for a young vineyard in just its third leaf. The blend was 39% Zinfandel, 38% Syrah, 13% Petite Sirah and 10% Mourvedre. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (AG)" (08/2011)

Firm tannins support a textured, inviting finish laced with tar, smoke and licorice. Deceptively medium in body, the 2009 fleshes out beautifully with time in the glass, turning quite powerful and intense. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (AG)" (12/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine du Pégaü "Cuvée Reservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 97WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Starting with the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reserve, this wine showed spectacularly on release, closed down for a few years, and has now emerged, at close to full maturity, and is straight-up fabulous. Out of the entire tasting, it remained my favorite. Giving up gorgeous blackberry, currants, garrigue, pepper and beef blood, it hits the palate with a massive, full-bodied texture that carries layers of sweet fruit, awesome concentration and blockbuster length. Tasting like the essence of both this estate and the terroir, it’s an incredible wine that I’m happy to taste/drink anytime. It will continue to evolve gracefully, but I see no reason to delay gratification. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-95RP), (92-94BH), 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Charred meat, black currant, and wet stone characterize the bouquet of Jadot’s 2005 Clos Vougeot. Savory, salty, brightly-fruited and invigoratingly juicy on the palate, this displays more energy and acidity than I would have expected from the appellation. For all of the clarity and juiciness of this wine’s fruit, grilled meat and stony earthiness combined with the emergence of formidable tannins and subtle but persistent cyanic and iodine notes to turn its formidably long finish somewhat austere. But this is going to result in an exciting rendition of its terroir if left in the dark for at least 6-8 years. " (06/2007)
