1998 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1998 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I have noted in the past, Togni holds back 100 cases of each vintage to be released at age ten. Although 1998 was a challenging vintage in California, this 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has evolved into a beautiful wine. If you want to throw a California Cabernet into a blind tasting of first and second-growth Bordeaux, this is the wine to choose. A dead-ringer for a top-class Pauillac, it offers leafy, cedary, licorice, red and black currant, and roasted herb aromas. In the mouth, the Bordeaux-like austerity continues with noticeable tannin as well as a slightly dry finish. (RP)" (12/2008)

1998 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1998 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (91ST, 89WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(78% cabernet sauvignon, 14% merlot, 6% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot; 5.4 g/l total acidity; 13.2% alcohol): Dark ruby-red. Ripe blackcurrant aromas and flavors are lifted by pungent graphite, cedar and mineral notes. Balanced, pure and smooth in the mouth, with excellent perfume and precision. Finishes long and pure, with lingering cassis and leather notes. This is another Lynch-Bages that has picked up volume and flesh from bottle aging. It's a very classic Pauillac and a wine that can still improve with additional cellaring." (01/2012)

1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 97JH, 97ST, 97WS, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A wine that flirts with perfection, and should rival the 1986 as one of the legendary Granges produced, the 1998 has one of the highest alcohol contents (nearly 15%) as well as one of the highest percentages of Shiraz in the blend (97%). Its stunning purple color is accompanied by exceptionally sweet aromas of blackberry liqueur intermixed with barbecue spices, an endearing, smoky earthiness, pepper, roasted meats, and coffee. Huge, massive, unctuously textured, and extraordinarily youthful, this impressive wine is a candidate for perfection. It should continue to evolve over the next three decades. (RP)" (06/2009)

1998 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Proprietary Red Blend
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1998 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Proprietary Red Blend (90RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The very severe selection because of the difficulties imposed by the 1998 vintage has resulted in only 1,100 cases of the 1998 Cardinale. It has turned out to be a full-bodied, deep, rich wine with plenty of black currant/cherry fruit infused with some cedar, spice box, tobacco, and toasty new oak..." (12/2000)

1998 Leonetti Reserve Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Leonetti Reserve Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I could not help breaking into a smile when I tasted the medium to dark ruby-colored 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Its extraordinarily spicy, cherry syrup-scented nose leads to a flavor profile that explodes on the palate with substantial quantities of cherry syrup, raspberry coulis, and Asian spices. Gary Figgins' Cabernets can be as boisterous as Olivier Humbrecht's Gewurztraminers. The purity and power of the sweet, spicy fruit flavors found in this wine are truly extraordinary. Additionally, it possesses an extremely long, candied, sweet tannin-filled finish. (PR)" (10/2001)

1998 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1998 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WE, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blackberry jam, juniper berries, and spices can be found in the rich aromatics of the stunning, dark-colored 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon. A wine of awesome breadth, width, concentration, and power, this full-bodied beauty is crammed with lush layers of blackberries, plums, and cassis. This offering's prodigious fruit envelopes its copious silky tannin. Additionally, it displays an extraordinarily long finish. Drink it between 2005 and 2016. (PR)" (12/2002)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This opaque purple-colored, muscular, full-bodied, classically made St.-Julien displays impressive concentration, chewy, highly-extracted flavors of black fruits, iron, earth, and spicy wood, and a powerful mouth-feel. A pure, uncompromising, traditionally-styled wine, it is to be admired for its authenticity, class, and quality. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2035." (04/2001)
