A stunningly opulent wine with a dense purple color, the 2005 possesses a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and graphite, full body, silky but noticeable tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a stunning, 45+-second finish. 2005 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 93ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon at age ten is still a young, vibrant, dense ruby/purple -colored wine with lots of classic cassis fruit and a touch of earth undertones. It offers relatively soft and silky tannins by the standards of Montelena, but they’re there. It is full-bodied, rich and impressive. Cabernet Sauvignon from the northern end of the Napa Valley in Calistoga tends to be the St.-Estèphe of Napa. This wine is certainly one of the great ones. Forget it for another 3-4 years and drink it over the following 20-25. 93+ (RP)" (06/2015)

Opaque purple-colored, it displays an expressive perfume of wood smoke, mineral, scorched earth, allspice, black cherry, and blackberry. On the palate it is full-bodied with gobs of savory fruit, a smooth texture, sweet flavors, and superb depth. It will evolve for 5-7 years and offer prime drinking from 2013 to 2027." (12/2008)

Bid on this 7-bottle lot of 2005 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay ((95-98RP), 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard possesses honeysuckle, tangerine, and orange blossom characteristics along with great acidity, plenty of minerality, a greenish hue to its light gold color, and fabulous texture, length, and richness. I suspect there is more honeysuckle in this offering than in some of its peers, but it is flirting with perfection ... it's that compelling. (RP)" (12/2006)

2005 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a hot vintage and incredible any way you look at it, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon has that laser-like focus of a cooler year, yet the voluptuousness and richness of a warmer year. Smoked black fruits, coffee, truffle and pen ink-like aromas and flavors all emerge from this massive, incredibly full-bodied effort and on the palate, it carries itself perfectly with a weightless, yet decadent texture, masses of polished tannin and blockbuster length. More classic and textbook than the 2007, it is every bit as good. Enjoy it over the coming two decades or more. Drink now-2033. (JD)" (06/2013)

Of the 2004 Glaetzer "Amon-Ra" Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Deep garnet-black in color, the 2004 Amon-Ra exudes lovely dark fruit, spice box and anise notes over kirsch, creme de cassis and mincemeat, plus a savory and meaty whiff. Full-bodied, it is generous and rich in the mouth with bright acid and a medium-firm level of fine-grained tannins. It finishes long and fine. (LPB) " (02/2013)

Wine & Spirits: " *Two Stars* Other varietals may add their voices to this very rich wine, and Cabernet Sauvignon, in particular, brings a firm streak of tannin, but the wine is very much Zinfandel at its heart and is rife with very deep blackberry fruit and vanilla. Full and fleshy in feel, if still a bit astringent on the back end, it is beginning to hint at complexity to come and deserves to be left alone for some three or four more years." (05/2008)

2005 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red (96RP, 95CG, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Proprietary Red is significantly better than what I tasted last year, although I certainly gave it a high score. This wine has fleshed out beautifully. The final blend (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec) has a deep purple color, a beautifully sweet nose of blackberries and cassis intermixed with some meatiness, smoke, and a touch of pain grille as well as notes of espresso and licorice. Full-bodied, rich, with decent acidity, excellent delineation, and moderately high tannin, this is a beauty that should evolve for 25-30+ years It is no wimpish wine at 15.2% natural alcohol, but that is buried beneath a cascade of gorgeous fruit and glycerin. This wine should be cruising along brilliantly in 2030+." (12/2007)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Malbec Adrianna Vineyard was also aged for 18 months in new French oak. Opaque purple/black, it is more expressive aromatically as well as more structured than the Nicasia cuvee. Opulent on the palate, it is dense and extracted with gobs of spicy black fruits and enough structure to unwind for another 6-8 years. Drink this lengthy effort from 2015 to 2030. (JM)" (12/2008)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-95RP), (92-94BH), 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Charred meat, black currant, and wet stone characterize the bouquet of Jadot’s 2005 Clos Vougeot. Savory, salty, brightly-fruited and invigoratingly juicy on the palate, this displays more energy and acidity than I would have expected from the appellation. For all of the clarity and juiciness of this wine’s fruit, grilled meat and stony earthiness combined with the emergence of formidable tannins and subtle but persistent cyanic and iodine notes to turn its formidably long finish somewhat austere. But this is going to result in an exciting rendition of its terroir if left in the dark for at least 6-8 years. " (06/2007)

Robert Parker writes: "Talk about coming out with a Big Bang! Stuart Sloan, the Seattle businessman, has hit both gold and home runs with his extraordinary vineyard perched high on a hill above the renowned restaurant/hotel complex of Auberge du Soleil. A 60-acre estate only partially planted in vines, with David Abreu handling the viticulture and Martha Levy (wife of Harlan Estates’ Bob Levy) making the wine, this is as impressive a new operation as I have ever witnessed." This wine needs 3-4 years of bottle age, and should last 25-30 years. (RP)" (12/2007)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (96BH, (94-95RP), 94ST, 94WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The magnificently pure and airy essence of notably ripe dark pinot fruit, cassis and menthol remains reserved and cool with its exceptionally rich, classy, sweet and vibrant mineral-driven and large-scaled flavors that are shaped by powerful if buried tannins. While magnificently long, this stunning Ducster is completely shut down at present and it would be a vinous crime to open one at this very early point in its development as the '05 is built for the very long haul, indeed 20 years may be too soon. In my view, the '05 Ducster is destined to take its place alongside the greatest vintages of the past, and while the words 'best ever' are presumptuous in a wine with such a distinguished history, the mere fact that it has the potential to be among the very best ever is praise enough." At present the tannins are on the chewy side and like the Latricières, this will require a certain amount of patience." (04/2007)

Rita Hills Pinot Noir,Wine Enthusiast writes: "The most balanced of Sea Smoke’s three new Pinots, Southing was aged in about two-thirds new oak, which gives rich caramel, toasted coconut and exotic spice notes to the ripe fruit flavors. The wine explodes with cherries, raspberries, mulberries and even chocolate mint, finishing long and spicy, and leaving the impression of wholesomeness and completeness. 2005 Harris Estate "Jake's Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Harris Estate "Jake's Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I first had these impressive wines when I tasted them with winemaking consultant Mark Herold. These are hillside terroirs at the northern end of Napa Valley. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Jake’s Vineyard (15% alcohol) is a young, virile and masculine style of Cabernet Sauvignon, with loads of minerality, blackberry fruit, damp earth and coffee as well as a full-bodied mouthfeel. Still youthful and promising, the wine is just beginning to enter its plateau of maturity, where it should stay for a good 15-20 years. 2005 Futo "OV" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Futo "OV" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Winemaker's notes: "A strong compliment to the FUTO blend, the 2005 OV displays dark brooding aromas of black cherry, blackberry and toasty oak. The mouthfeel is rich and thick. Flavors focus on brambly fruit with smoky minerality. Finish is long and savory with a good grip of tannin. Drink now or cellar, both options are there. The name is our nod to Oakford Vineyards, which once occupied part of the Futo estate. For two decades Oakford grew and produced wines of character that were true to the property. OV acknowledges this history, the wines and the people behind both."

2005 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97WE, 96RP, 95JS, 93ST, 93WS, 90CG). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted in a big lineup of St. Helena Cabernets, Spottswoode’s magnificent ’05 stood out. It’s a massive powerhouse, explosive in black currant, cherry pie, plum, chocolate, anise and cedar flavors that are detailed and precise. However, the wine, which was blended with a little Cabernet Franc, is graceful and balanced. Drinkable now due to its softly refined tannins, but has the integrity to ride out the years. Easy to find, with 3,896 cases produced." (04/2009)

2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (1.5L) (95WE, 94RP, 92WS). Robert Parker: "This is the finest Brane-Cantenac I have tasted in over thirty years. Unusually perfumed and already approachable (atypical for most 2005 Medocs), it reveals a deep plum/purple color as well as a stunningly flamboyant bouquet of smoked herbs, licorice, camphor, black cherries, currants, and notions of plums and blackberries. Elegant with silky tannin and medium body, it is clearly a classic statement on the Margaux appellation. While not a powerhouse, it is beautifully concentrated, stunningly balanced, and surprisingly forward."

Of the 2003 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the vintage’s most profound wines, the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul has a dense purple color as well as a glorious nose of blackberries, licorice, smoke, and some roasted meats and dried herbs. Amazingly opulent, even voluptuous, with extraordinary purity, a huge tactile impression on the palate, but not heavy by any means, this is a stunning Chateauneuf du Pape from ancient vines made with 95% Grenache and the rest Cinsault and Syrah. Production is about 8,000 bottles, and the wine is bottled after spending its entire life in epoxy-lined tanks, so what one gets is the essence of the thre

2005 Alban "Pandora" Edna Valley Rhône Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Alban "Pandora" Edna Valley Rhône Blend (94RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another wine with explosive aromas of pepper, spice box, lavender, sweet cherries and currants and a decidedly Provencal personality is the 2005 Pandora, a combination of 92% Grenache and 8% Syrah. This is a deep, distinctive red with stunning aromatics as well as loads of personality. It should be at its peak over the next 7-8 years. The wines of John and Lorraine Alban are about as spectacular as one can find anywhere in the world. Alban is committed to aging his big Syrahs longer in barrel, believing it will concentrate the wines and add additional complexity. (RP)" (06/2008)

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Lascombes, Margaux (1.5L) (95RP, 94W&S, 93WS, (89-92ST), 91WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A gorgeous example of Lascombes, the 2005, a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, continues the remarkable turn-around in quality that began five years ago. A stunningly opulent wine with a dense purple color, the 2005 possesses a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and graphite, full body, silky but noticeable tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a stunning, 45+-second finish. This is a brilliant, modern-styled Margaux that should age for 30-35 years" (04/2008)
