2013 Reynon Sauvignon Blanc, Bordeaux

89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sensational effort from proprietor Denis Dubourdieu, this easygoing, richly fruity, honeyed white Bordeaux exhibits lots of fig, grapefruit and melon notes, medium body, surprising depth and terrific purity as well as complexity. Drink it over the next 1-3 years. (RP)" (8/2014) 88-91 points Wine Spectator: "Tangy and mouthwatering, with kiwi core, lemon pulp, fennel and sel gris notes. Lots of cut through the finish. Piercing. (Web-2014)" K&L Notes: Located in Beguey in the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, Château Reynon was purchased by the Dubourdieu family in 1958. Denis Dubourdieu too... Read More »

2014 Carbonnieux Blanc, Graves (Pre-Arrival)

91-92 points James Suckling: "Lots of sliced apple and pear character with a full body, fresh fruits and a tangy finish. Shows such balance and beauty already." (4/2015) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2014 has a pretty nose in the making: precise apple blossom and blackcurrant leaf aromas that gently waft from the glass. The palate is crisp on the entry, the acidity not as shrill as some of its peers, thus rendering it a more 'languid' Pessac-Léognan. There is already a very elegant, gravelly finish that lingers in the mouth–a very promising Carbonnieux Blanc that may merit a higher sco ...Read More »

1989 d'Yquem, Sauternes

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The favorite sweet wine of millionaires, Chateau d'Yquem has, not unexpectedly, turned in a brilliant effort with their newly released 1989. It is a large-scaled, massively rich, unctuously-textured wine that should evolve effortlessly for a half century or more. It does not reveal the compelling finesse and complexity of the 1988 or 1986, but it is a far heavier, richer wine than either of those vintages. It is reminiscent of the 1976, with additional fat and glycerin. The wine is extremely alcoholic and rich, with a huge nose of smoky, honey-covered co ...Read More »

2001 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the great white Domaine de Chevaliers, the loaded 2001 tastes like liquid stones intermixed with honeyed grapefruit, orange marmalade, and smoked herbs. It boasts great intensity, a surprising amount of glycerin, and tremendous depth as well as persistence on the palate. It will undoubtedly close down and go into a backward stage, but it looks to be a legendary Domaine de Chevalier. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2040. (RP)" (4/2003)94 points Wine & Spirits: "No tasting note." (12/2004) 91-92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Aromas of honey, hay and lanolin. Sweet, supple and fat, with ripe, soft flavors of white peach ...Read More »

1995 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml)
Bid on this 2-half-bottle lot of 1995 d'Yquem, Sauternes (375ml) (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Served from an ex-chateau bottle. The 1995 Chateau d’Yquem is moving into its secondary aroma phase. A deep golden color, it has a dense and almost Barsac-like bouquet with tangerine, apricot, acacia and melted candle wax. It displays good intensity, unfolding beautifully in the glass. The palate has a strident opening, with a slight bitter edge that lends this Yquem great tension. One can discern layers of marmalade infused with honey fruit, with a powerful, spicy finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is drinking perfectly now, but will surely age with style over many years. Tasted March 2014. (NM)" (06/2014)

2014 Cos d'Estournel Blanc, Bordeaux (Pre-Arrival)

96-97 points James Suckling: "This is very dense and beautiful with great intensity and length. Loads of sliced pears and apples as well as a creamy texture. Lots of apricots and salty notes. Iodine-like. Goes on for minutes. 66% sauvignon blanc and 24% sémillon. 8,000 bottles made." (3/2015) 91-94 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2014 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is deep, pliant and super-expressive. In 2014, it is the wine's textural depth and resonance that stands out. The late harvest resulted in white grapes endowed with a magical combination of density, power and freshness. Although the blend is 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 3 ...Read More »

2014 Clarte de Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

95-96 points James Suckling: "Shows excellent depth and richness with sliced apple, apricot and pineapple character. Big and rich. Excellent. This is pretty amazing. 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 33% Sémillon." (3/2015) 90-93 points Wine Spectator: "The quinine, lemon chiffon and white asparagus notes are gliding together already, with a warm macadamia nut accent adding texture and weight to the finish. Still a little youthfully raw at the very end, but shows lovely concentration and length. Tasted non-blind." (3/2015) 90-92 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2014 Le Clarte de Haut-Brion is unusually dense in this vintage, the result of a brief heat wave in J ...Read More »

2013 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

95-96 points James Suckling: "A white with a fabulous minerality and citrus character as well as hints of papaya and other tropical fruits. Full body with a wonderful backbone and length. Focused and powerful." (4/2014) 93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, pale yellow-gold. Subtly complex aromas of white stone fruits, lime, nut oil, nutmeg, menthol and bitter grapefruit. A huge, deep wine with laser-like acidity lifting the highly concentrated tropical fruit, white peach, spice and herb flavors. As youthfully chewy, thick and palate-staining as this is, it's also wonderfully light on its feet, showing uncommon ...Read More »

2014 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Wine Enthusiast: "There are strong wood flavors in this wine, but there's also ripe fruit and ample acidity. It is an impressive wine that is balanced, rich and likely to age well." (3/2015) 92-93 points James Suckling: "Beautiful intensity of sliced limes, slates, stones and citrus. This is a serious white as always." (3/2015) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2014 is a tentative blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Sémillon that represents around half of the total crop. Picked between 10 and 26 September, yields were 36 hectoliter per hectare and after a ten-day cold settling it is currently being m ...Read More »

2014 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

95-97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Barrel Sample. This is a gorgeous wine, so rich and generous. At the same time, it has a direct purity of fruitiness, with a tense structure and crisp apple and lemon notes that give a nervous edge to the wine. It will be a wine to age for a seriously long time." (4/2015) 94-97 points Wine Spectator: "Tangerine, makrut lime and quinine notes are tightly coiled, with a long lemon shortbread note coursing through the finish. Offers a lovely kiwifruit core, with green plum notes skittering through the background. Despite the heft, this really lingers thanks to well-embedded acidity. Taste ...Read More »
