1981 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1981 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark ruby with a hint of garnet. Enticing aromas of dark plum, cassis, truffle, cedar and coffee. Rich, dense and suave, with ripe, rich flavors similar to the aromas. Finishes with a touch of alcoholic warmth and hints of underbrush, lead pencil and tobacco. The tannins are big and plush, but the wine nonetheless finishes with the classic, slightly austere mouthfeel typical of the 1981 vintage. I've always felt that this 1981 was a major success for Lynch-Bages and this bottle bears this out once again." (01/2012)

2005 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Riverblock" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Riverblock" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (96CG, 95WE, 93ST, 92WS, 90RP). Connoisseurs Guide: " *Three Stars* Not only the best of a very fine lot from Williams Selyem, but our pick as one of the best Pinot Noirs of recent memory, this wonderfully deep, broadly fruited wine sets the bar of achievement at a dizzying height. Winning very high marks for both its fruity precision and carefully crafting, it is on the one hand enveloping and easy to access and, on the other, a layered and very sophisticated opus. We can only guess that it will become even better over time because it is a show-stopping glassful right now, and its very keen balance absolutely insures that it has much life ahead of it." 2012 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Horsepower "Sur Echalas Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah ((97-100RP)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new wine for 2012, the 2012 Syrah Sur Echalas Vineyard (same vineyard as the Grenache, and located just beside the Cayuse estate and the Armada Vineyard) is a stunning example of the quality coming from these rocky soils around Milton Freewater. Offering incredible notes of pepper, bacon fat, steak tartare, olive paste and deep, savory dark fruit, this full-bodied barrel sample has fabulous concentration, beautiful purity and a blockbuster finish. It too will have an easy 15 years or more of ultimate longevity. (JD)" (06/2014)

Of the 2012 Rivers-Marie "Silver Eagle Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Antonio Galloni writes: "Deep and powerful, the 2012 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard is especially brooding in this vintage. Black cherries, tar, smoke and licorice all burst from the glass in an explosive, full-bodied Pinot. This is one of the more reticent wines in the range, with a burly personality that is going to take some time to fully come together. Initially quite dark, the 2012 brightens up considerably with time in the glass, suggesting a future with plenty of potential. Hints of cranberry, pomegranate and orange peel leave a lasting impression on the finish. The 2012 was

2001 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 94WE, 93ST, 93W&S, 91JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A brilliant showing for Christian Moueix’s well-known Napanook Vineyard, the 2001 Dominus is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. A classic in the making, this is a flawless, seamless example of elegant, complex Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that possesses a Bordeaux-like personality. This gorgeous, sexy, opulent, dense ruby/purple-colored wine reveals sweet caramel, mocha, creme de cassis and kirsch notes intermixed with a hint of espresso roast as well as underbrush. Ripe, long and full-bodied with well-integrated tannin, acidity, alcohol and wood, this prodigious 2001 is drinkable now and over the next 25+ years given this estate’s longevity track record. 1987 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1987 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Chateau Montelena has made so many sensational Cabernets that it seems almost impossible to believe that their 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate could be even more profound than any of the exceptional wines made previously at this property. The black/purple color, the extraordinary bouquet of rich cassis, violets, and licorice, the massive extraction of flavors, sensational depth, super ripeness, and a length that must last over a minute, suggest to me that this is easily the most concentrated and potentially longest-lived Cabernet Sauvignon that Chateau Montelena has ever made. The extract level is incredible, yet the balance is there. Anticipated maturity: 1997-2025." (10/1993)

2005 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Clio, composed of 70% old-vine Monastrell and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, is opaque purple-colored with an enthralling bouquet of pain grille, spice box, violets, espresso, blueberry, and blackberry. Layered, opulent, and full-flavored, this thick wine has superb concentration and balance. It will evolve for 6-8 years and drink well through 2025. The winemaking at the El Nido project is overseen by renowned Australian vigneron Chris Ringland. After a meticulous selection process, the grapes are basket pressed and fermented in oak. 1998 Alion, Ribera del Duero
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Alion, Ribera del Duero (91ST, 90WS). 91 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright medium ruby. Sexy aromas of cassis, black raspberry, mocha, cocoa powder, game and minerals. Densely packed but juicy; a very stylish wine with a lovely light touch thanks to perfectly integrated acidity. Still quite penetrating and youthfully unevolved. Finishes very long and subtle, with terrific grip. A strong effort." (Nov/Dec 2001) Robert Parker: "The deep purple-colored 1998 exhibits aromas of leather, licorice, smoke, and black fruits." (02/2003) 90 points The Wine Spectator: "This muscular red offers coffee, mineral and plum flavors wrapped in a blanket of ripe but firm tannins. 2001 Alion (Vega Sicilia) Ribera del Duero
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Alion (Vega Sicilia) Ribera del Duero (95RP). 95 points from Robert Parker! He says, "The finest Alion I have tasted from this project owned by the proprietors of Vega Sicilia, the 2001 is a sensational effort. Moreover, while it’s not inexpensive, 25,000 cases are produced. A deep ruby/purple color is followed by a glorious, smoky nose of espresso, dried herbs, roasted meats, sweet black currants, new saddle leather, plums, and cherries. This provocative, rich, complex, full-bodied Ribera del Duero possesses wonderful glycerin, fabulous purity, and a long finish that lasts for 40+ seconds. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 93WE, 93WS, 91CG, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Shafer’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five, composed of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, has been a brilliant introduction to their portfolio of Stags Leap offerings. It spends 21 months in two-thirds new oak. The wine’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a wine with glorious opulence, abundant fruit, supple, sweet tannins, a round, generous, mouthfilling texture and stunning purity as well as complexity. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (94RP, 94WE, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the finest Brane-Cantenac I have tasted in over thirty years. Unusually perfumed and already approachable (atypical for most 2005 Medocs), it reveals a deep plum/purple color as well as a stunningly flamboyant bouquet of smoked herbs, licorice, camphor, black cherries, currants, and notions of plums and blackberries. Elegant with silky tannin and medium body, it is clearly a classic statement on the Margaux appellation. While not a powerhouse, it is beautifully concentrated, stunningly balanced, and surprisingly forward. It could be drunk now after several hours of decanting, but it should age easily for 20+ years." Aromas of black- and redcurrant and bitter chocolate, plus a whiff of menthol. Tighter and less sweet than the basic Napa Valley version, with strong acidity keeping the brooding dark fruit and mineral flavors under wraps today. 1986 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Gruaud Larose, St-Julien (96RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " Still tasting as if it were only 7-8 years of age, the dense, garnet/purple-colored 1986 Gruaud-Larose is evolving at a glacier pace. The wine still has mammoth structure, tremendous reserves of fruit and concentration, and a finish that lasts close to a minute. The wine is massive, very impressively constituted, with still some mouth-searing tannin to shed. Decanting of one to two hours in advance seems to soften it a bit, but this is a wine that seems to be almost immortal in terms of its longevity. It is a great Medoc classic, and certainly one of the most magnificent Gruaud-Larose ever made. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2035. Last tasted, 10/02. (RP)" (01/2003)

2012 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Peter Michael "Ma Danseuse" Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir (100RP, 98JS, 93ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The compelling 2012 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse (1,480 cases) is even better than the 2013. Notes of lead pencil shavings, DRC-like forest floor, black raspberry, blackcurrant, Asian plum sauce, rose petal and sweet cherry characteristics are found in this spectacular, multidimensional, prodigious Pinot Noir that should drink well for 10-15+ years. The clonal material probably came from one of the DRC vineyards, so it is not surprising that. in this cool climate, with the great fruit purity California can achieve, there is a DRC-like resemblance." 2012 Chimère (Sine Qua Non) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Chimère (Sine Qua Non) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (OWC - 99RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "We finished the tasting with the inky-purple 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape. A cellar selection by Manfred Krankl (of Sine Qua Non) of mostly Mourvedre, yet with a splash of Grenache and even some white varieties, it was aged in two new 300-liter French oak barrels before being bottled (in magnum only) unfined and unfiltered. It’s a massive, masculine and structured Chateauneuf du Pape that needs to be tasted to be believed. Cassis, creamy licorice, jammy blackberry and crushed flowers are only a few of the nuances here, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, incredible mid-palate depth and a blockbuster finish that just won’t quit. The level of concentration here surpasses just about every other wine in the vintage, and yet it never seems heavy, cumbersome or over-the-top. Give it 4-5 years and drink this spectacular effort over the following

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blackberry jam, juniper berries, and spices can be found in the rich aromatics of the stunning, dark-colored 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon. A wine of awesome breadth, width, concentration, and power, this full-bodied beauty is crammed with lush layers of blackberries, plums, and cassis. This offering's prodigious fruit envelopes its copious silky tannin. Additionally, it displays an extraordinarily long finish. Drink it between 2005 and 2016. (PR)" (12/2002)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 100RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 boasts an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, violets, blackberries, creme de cassis and hints of charcoal and barbecue in addition to a full-bodied, multilayered mouthfeel that builds incrementally with great purity, staggering fruit concentration, and a long, velvety, 50+-second finish. 1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 99WS, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-black colour. An incredible array of aromas on the nose: blackberry, black cherry, tobacco, espresso, leather, black olive and loam. The palate is absolutely seamless from first impression to finish, effortlessly building layers of complexity in the mouth and leading to a very long, earth and spice finish. I can’t see how this could possibly be improvement so have no alternative but concede perfection. Drink now to 2045+. Tasted March 2009. (LPB)" (05/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (94ST, 94WS, 93BH). Wine Spectator: "This is lively and quite restrained, showing more energy than muscle. Lime, grapefruit, apple and spice flavors build nicely on the palate to a long finish. Still a little raw, so give it at least a year or two to integrate. Best from 2012 through 2026." (02/2010)

Full-bodied, with layers of silky fruit and masses of currant, mineral and berry character. Amazing. It's a wine with perfect structure, perfect strength. It's 1961 Latour in modern clothes. It's hard not to drink it now." (02/2005)

2006 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru (95RP, 95WE, 91ST, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Musky floral notes suggesting narcissus, magnolia, and perhaps some sort of exotic orchid mingle in the nose of Drouhin's 2006 Musigny with quinine, birch beer, and kirsch. The palate boasts remarkable richness and sheer viscosity for the vintage – though little superficial sweetness – along with textural refinement that goes beyond even the best of the rest of this year's Drouhin collection. Fruit pit bitterness; brown spices; roasting pan reduction of meat and fat; and an almost palpable sense of chalky and ore-like minerality add to the mystery and invigoration of a vibratory finish. This tastes awfully delicious today, though it should probably be given a few years in bottle. It ought to perform marvelously for at least a decade. (DS)" (12/2009)

2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf du Pape "Hommage a Jacques Perrin"
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf du Pape "Hommage a Jacques Perrin" (99RP, 95ST, 94W&S, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin is a blend of 60% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache, 10% Counoise, and 10% Syrah. Full-bodied, excruciatingly backward, and nearly impenetrable, it boasts an inky/blue/purple color in addition to a promising nose of new saddle leather, melted asphalt, camphor, blackberries, smoky, roasted herbs, and Asian spices. A huge lashing of tannin as well as a formidable structure result in the antithesis of its more flattering, forward, and voluptuous sibling, the classic Beaucastel. Readers lucky enough to come across this cuvee should plan on waiting at least a decade before it begins to approach adolescence. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2040" (02/2004)

2008 Claude Dugat Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Claude Dugat Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru ((91-94BH), 92RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is very pinot with an ultra fresh and layered nose that possesses plenty of Gevrey character, especially pungent earth and a hint of animale, which continues onto the bigger and richer but not necessarily more precise or focused big-bodied flavors that are powerful and possess excellent volume, all wrapped in a hugely complex finish. 2006 Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Champeaux"
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Champeaux" (93BH, 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Dugat-Py 2006 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux displays more finesse and refinement of texture as well as a similar, seemingly gravity-defying combination of density with lift and buoyancy to the corresponding Petite Chapelle, although there is less sheer flavor concentration and drama on display. Black tea and blackberry are decadently laced with peony floral notes in the nose, and the tea and berries are underlain by peat, wet stone, and iron filings. It lingers palate-saturatingly, stimulatingly, and a bit mysteriously. Expect more excitement over the next several years and an at least dozen year potential. (DS)" (12/2009)

2006 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Emmanuel Rouget Echezeaux Grand Cru ((93-94RP), (90-93ST), 92BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sweet, spicy profusion of cinnamon, ginger, cocoa powder, lily perfume, maraschino, and kirsch soars from the glass of Rouget 2006 Echezeaux, which comes to the palate with unexpected depth and richness of roasted meats, chalk, and saline savor, though to be sure, the bright red fruits and spices never flag. This is positively vibratory as well as riveting in its dynamic, oscillating finishing complexity. I'd give it 3-4 years head start and then plan to follow it for another decade. (DS)" (12/2009)

2009 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red (94AG, 93JS, 93ST, 92WS). Antonio Galloni: "The 2009 Opus One is impeccable. It brings together the silkiness of the 2007 with the power and darkness of the 2008, a combination that is hugely appealing, to say the least. With a little air, the 2009 can be enjoyed young, but it is best cellared for at least a few years, which will allow some of the baby fat to drop off. The blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot and 1% Malbec. 94+ (Antonio Galloni)" (06/2013)

1995 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1995 Taittinger "Comtes de Champagne" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (97ST, 96RP, 95WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Pale, green-tinged color. Incredible shiver-producing 99-point nose combines peach, lemon, iodine and steely, petrolly, slatey soil tones; I was reminded of Chevalier-Montrachet and great Mosel riesling. Full and creamy-smooth but extremely young. This brilliantly minerally wine seems to thicken and intensify after 10 or 15 seconds in the mouth, offering layer upon layer of soil tones. A superconcentrated Champagne that completely avoids the heaviness shown by some '95s." (12/2002)

2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Montrose, St-Estèphe (99RP, 97JS, 96ST, 95WE, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The blend in 2003 was 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot (a very high percentage), 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The wine, unlike most 2003s, has a freshness and liveliness provided by their extraordinary terroir. This wine can be drunk now. It has a dense bluish/purple color to the rim and an extraordinary nose of blueberries and mulberries, with blacker cassis and blackberry entering the picture. Scorched earth, spice and licorice are all present in this magnificent, full-bodied, opulent wine that is very Montrose, very classic and somewhat atypical of the vintage. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96AG, 95RP, 93ST, 93WS, 90WE). Antonio Galloni: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve boasts stunning depth, power and richness. Exotic, powerful and structured, the 2010 emerges from the glass with masses of dark fruit, smoke, licorice, menthol, plums and cloves. Today, the 2010 Reserve is naturally quite primary, but all the ingredients are there for it to develop into a spectacular wine. Readers will need to give the 2010 a few years to soften, as the tannins are a bit imposing at this stage, despite the wine's considerable appeal today. An exotic melange of blackberries, blueberries, menthol, tar and licorice round out the sumptuous finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. (Antonio Galloni)" (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Even better though, the 2010 Cumulus Vineyard #4 checks in as 44% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 12% Petite Sirah, 8% Mourvedre and 4% Touriga Nacional. Fermented with 24% whole cluster and aged 30 months in 63% new French oak, it offers awesome purity and richness with no apparent weight. Blackberry, mineral, spring flowers and underbrush are just some of the nuances here and it builds on the palate with silky tannin, beautiful texture and blockbuster length.
