2012 Chimère (Sine Qua Non) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Chimère (Sine Qua Non) Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (OWC - 99RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "We finished the tasting with the inky-purple 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape. A cellar selection by Manfred Krankl (of Sine Qua Non) of mostly Mourvedre, yet with a splash of Grenache and even some white varieties, it was aged in two new 300-liter French oak barrels before being bottled (in magnum only) unfined and unfiltered. It’s a massive, masculine and structured Chateauneuf du Pape that needs to be tasted to be believed. Cassis, creamy licorice, jammy blackberry and crushed flowers are only a few of the nuances here, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, incredible mid-palate depth and a blockbuster finish that just won’t quit. The level of concentration here surpasses just about every other wine in the vintage, and yet it never seems heavy, cumbersome or over-the-top. Give it 4-5 years and drink this spectacular effort over the following

2010 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 4" Central Coast Syrah Multi-Format Tasting Lot
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 4" Central Coast Syrah Multi-Format Tasting Lot (OWC), including 3-bottles and 1-magnum of 2010 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 4" Central Coast Syrah ((95-97AG), 97RP, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Even better though, the 2010 Cumulus Vineyard #4 checks in as 44% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 12% Petite Sirah, 8% Mourvedre and 4% Touriga Nacional. Fermented with 24% whole cluster and aged 30 months in 63% new French oak, it offers awesome purity and richness with no apparent weight. Blackberry, mineral, spring flowers and underbrush are just some of the nuances here and it builds on the palate with silky tannin, beautiful texture and blockbuster length. As with the Cumulus Vineyard #3, it dishes out plenty of pleasure now, yet will age brilliantly for 10-12 years. Drink now-2026. (JD)" (08/2013)

2008 Pavie, St-Emilion (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2008 Pavie, St-Emilion (1.5L) (95JS, 95RP, 95ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A remarkable success in this vintage, Pavie’s 92 acre vineyard situated on the limestone soils of the spectacular south-facing Cote Pavie (one of the greatest terroirs of Bordeaux) was cropped at 30 hectoliters per hectare. A blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, with an atypical (for a 2008) alcohol level of 14.5% that is higher than in its 2010 counterpart, the opaque purple-colored 2008 exhibits sweet, smoky barbecue notes intermixed with creme de cassis, black cherry, toast and crushed chalk. Deep, intense and full-bodied with surprisingly civilized tannins for such a young Pavie, it reveals wonderful breadth of flavor, a savory texture and a layered mouthfeel. It should drink beautifully in 2-4 years and keep for 25 or more." (05/2011)

James Suckling: "This is a wine that seduces you, with its crushed blackberries and hints of dark chocolate that follow through to a full body and ultra-fine tannins with a tangy, fresh finish. Full-bodied, with superfine tannins and a fresh, clean finish. Long and tight. Racy. Lovely texture. 60 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 percent Merlot and 15 percent Petit Verdot. This property is really on a roll now, delivering racy and structured reds; it gives much more freshness and character to the wine. (Web Only- 2010)"

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2010 Malescot-St-Exupéry, Margaux (1.5L) (95JS, 95RP, (91-94ST), (92-94WE), 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Gorgeous, flowery, classic Margaux once again, the 2010 Malescot St.-Exupery continues to show virtually no toasty oak, given the impeccable balance and full-bodied, full-throttle style it possesses. Black raspberries, creme de cassis and spring floral notes intermixed with forest floor and a hint of charcoal are followed by an opulent, sexy, full-bodied wine whose tannins have become much sweeter, while the wine is less restrained yet still exuberant and impressive. This is a phenomenal example once again for this estate, harmonious in every sense of style, extraordinarily long, rich and ageworthy. Three to four years of bottle age will do wonders to make it more accessible, but this wine is set for 25-30 years of longevity." (02/2013)

Bid on this magnum of 2009 Vérité "La Muse" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 96AG, 96RP, 95ST, 91WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 La Muse (86% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec; 14.5% alcohol) is a blockbuster offering complex, intense notes of Asian plum sauce, figs, black currants, white chocolate and cedar. The wine reveals an extra level of texture and richness along with full body, an unctuous texture, and a super ripeness and richness that does not go over the top. The tannins are noticeable, but well-integrated as are the new oak and acidity. This big, backstrapping, Merlot-based wine is meant for long-term cellaring. 2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (1.5L) ((93-96BH), (93-95RP), (92-95ST)). 93-96 points Allen Meadows: "A fresh, perfumed and relatively high-toned nose of elegant and ultra-pure red pinot fruit that is liberally laced with stone and soil nuances that merges seamlessly into rich, detailed and precise flavors that ooze a wet stone character on the energetic, hugely complex and explosively long finish. This is almost always a classy effort but in 2009 it is also beautifully stylish..." 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Clos des Ducs is a wonderful foil to the Champans. Here the wine is quite a bit more introspective, with a flavor profile that moves towards the darker end of the spectrum. Hints of menthol, spices and licorice add complexity on the long, intensely building finish. The Clos des Ducs is a marvelously complete wine, but it will require patience. Tasted from tank. 1985 Graham's Vintage Port (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1985 Graham's Vintage Port (1.5L) (96RP, 96WS). 96 points Wine Spectator: "Dark color, with intense aromas of blackberry, licorice and hints of flowers. Full-bodied, lightly sweet, with superrefined tannins. Long and caressing. Very youthful. Will improve for a long time. This is really excellent. Always has been. Just starting to come around." (2008) 96 points Robert Parker: "Graham is the undisputed star and kingpin of the 1985 vintage ports. Yes, it is made in a sweeter style than the other ports, but it is a fabulous wine because of a dazzling level of black-cherry fruit, an enormous structure, and staggering depth, dimension, and length. It is forward, as are all 1985s, and I would speculate that this port will be approaching maturity by 1992-93 and will keep 15-20 years thereafter." (01/89)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "One of the top 2011s, the 2011 Cumulus Vineyard #5 is a similar blend to the 2010, with 42% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 16% Mourvedre, 7% Petite Sirah and 3% Touriga Nacional. There’s slightly less whole cluster inclusion here (8%), and it spent 30 months in 45% new French oak. Roughly 257 cases were made. More savory and chewy, it boasts knockouts aromas and flavors of cassis, liquid smoke, ground pepper and hints of tar to go with a full-bodied, rich, structured, yet thrillingly textured profile on the palate. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select offers a mindblowing display of blue, red and black fruits along with licorice and floral notes. The prodigious aromatics are followed by a precise, rich, pure blast of inky black currant, blueberry and mulberry flavors. The oak is virtually undetectable, and the wine, for all its power, richness and depth, is incredibly light on its feet and ethereal. It should drink well for 3 to 4 decades. Of the 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (1.5L),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The Syrah releases started with the 2012 Syrah Stock. Coming mostly from the Eleven Confessions vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, it also has portions from Cumulus, The Third Twin and White Hawk. Made from 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petite Sirah, 2% Viognier and the rest Mourvedre, it spent 20 months (it’s not yet bottled) in 52% new French oak. Vibrant nose offers cassis, blackberry, licorice, minerals, tobacco leaf and violet. Rich, tactile and deep, offering outstanding energy for the vintage. It is a fabulous effort from d’Angerville. Tasted from tank. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." This is Clone 4 and Clone 6, as well as Clone 337, blended together from the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, aged in 100% new Darnajou barrels. A lovely effort of class and grace that is less forbidding than usual." (May 06, 2011) 91-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Taillepieds opens with a dark, baritone expression of fruit. Bid on this magnum of 2005 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97RP, (94-97ST), 94JS, 94W&S, 93CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select continues to put on weight, and displays a Bordeaux-like personality because of the vintage's cool growing season. A black purple color, stunningly sweet fruit, and a gorgeous bouquet of underbrush, forest floor, creme de cassis, lead pencil shavings, and toasty barrique are found in this ripe, full-bodied, deep, stunningly well-balanced, substantial wine with undeniable complexity as well as richness. It is approachable now, but promises to evolve for 25 or more years." (12/2008)

2010 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2010 Rhys "Bearwallow Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (93ST, 92RP, 90BH, 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright violet color. Sexy, highly perfumed scents of musky red and dark berries, incense and Asian spices, with a bright mineral topnote. Fresh, impressively concentrated raspberry and blackberry flavors are firmed by silky tannins and brightened by zesty minerality and a hint of blood orange. Suavely melds richness with energy, finishing on notes of tangy red berry skin and smoky minerals." (05/2012)

1995 Shafer Napa Valley Merlot (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1995 Shafer Napa Valley Merlot (1.5L) ((89-91RP), 89ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Merlot appears to be the qualitative equivalent, perhaps slightly superior, to the 1994. Certainly the 1995 is more fragrant and aromatic. Jammy black-cherries, toast, and subtle herbaceous notes are followed by a wine with gorgeous layers of rich, glycerin-endowed, creamy-textured fruit. Deeper-colored than the 1994, but as structured, the 1995 possesses more extract and length. It should drink well for 10-12 years." (06/1997)

2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2004 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Proprietary Red (1.5L) (98RP, 92ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the saturated purple-colored 2004 Proprietary Red Wine is a wonderful monster in the making. It boasts a dense purple color as well as notes of beef blood, creme de cassis, licorice, incense and spring flowers. It looks more like a 2-year-old wine than one that has seen its tenth birthday. Mouth-coating, unctuously textured, corpulent but well-delineated, this is a spectacular Proprietary Red that is even greater than I remember it in its youth. Bravo to Jayson Pahlmeyer (I believe his winemaker at the time was Erin Green) for this dynamic duo of 2004s." (04/2014)
