1998 Latour a Pomerol, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Latour a Pomerol, Pomerol (94WS). Wine Spectator: "Tar, berry and dry stone aromas, with wet earth. Full-bodied, thick and chewy, with velvety tannins. Big and rustic, but I like this textbook Latour à Pomerol. Best in decades. Best after 2008." (01/2001)

1998 Alion, Ribera del Duero
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Alion, Ribera del Duero (91ST, 90WS). 91 points Stephen Tanzer: "Bright medium ruby. Sexy aromas of cassis, black raspberry, mocha, cocoa powder, game and minerals. Densely packed but juicy; a very stylish wine with a lovely light touch thanks to perfectly integrated acidity. Still quite penetrating and youthfully unevolved. Finishes very long and subtle, with terrific grip. A strong effort." (Nov/Dec 2001) Robert Parker: "The deep purple-colored 1998 exhibits aromas of leather, licorice, smoke, and black fruits." (02/2003) 90 points The Wine Spectator: "This muscular red offers coffee, mineral and plum flavors wrapped in a blanket of ripe but firm tannins. Not giving much now, but it has concentration and balance, and it should age well. " (11/2002)

1998 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1998 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95WE, 94WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blackberry jam, juniper berries, and spices can be found in the rich aromatics of the stunning, dark-colored 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon. A wine of awesome breadth, width, concentration, and power, this full-bodied beauty is crammed with lush layers of blackberries, plums, and cassis. This offering's prodigious fruit envelopes its copious silky tannin. Additionally, it displays an extraordinarily long finish. Drink it between 2005 and 2016. (PR)" (12/2002)

1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Penfolds "Grange" Shiraz South Australia (98RP, 97JH, 97ST, 97WS, 94JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A wine that flirts with perfection, and should rival the 1986 as one of the legendary Granges produced, the 1998 has one of the highest alcohol contents (nearly 15%) as well as one of the highest percentages of Shiraz in the blend (97%). Its stunning purple color is accompanied by exceptionally sweet aromas of blackberry liqueur intermixed with barbecue spices, an endearing, smoky earthiness, pepper, roasted meats, and coffee. Huge, massive, unctuously textured, and extraordinarily youthful, this impressive wine is a candidate for perfection. It should continue to evolve over the next three decades. (RP)" (06/2009)

1998 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Opus One Napa Valley Proprietary Red (93AG). Antonio Galloni: "Next to the 1997, the 1998 Opus One is naturally a bit slender, but it, too, boasts striking balance. Savory herbs, mint, licorice and plums are woven together in a fabric of notable class. Still young and vibrant, the 1998 is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decade. The focus, length and persistence are all super-impressive, especially within the context of a challenging vintage. The 1998 is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 1% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. " (06/2013)

1998 Thierry Allemand "Reynard" Cornas
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1998 Thierry Allemand "Reynard" Cornas (90ST, 90WS). Wine Spectator: "Very sweet-tasting, this is a charmer. Seduces with its soft texture, which is accented by mineral notes, freshly crushed red- and blackberries, and ripe tannins. Super balance to the end, but the tannic finish suggests a bit of cellaring is in order. " (03/2001)
