2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Feusselottes" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes represents the height of elegance. Here we find the femininity of Chambolle, but with an extra dimension of power and muscle to match. Crushed flowers and sweet spices add the final nuances on the subtle finish. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. The vintage yielded a set of super-sized, big wines that may shock some readers for their sheer intensity. These are among some of the most backward 2009s I tasted and will require considerable patience. The estate ...Read More »

2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Clos du Roi Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot* As is typically the case, this is earthier and much more sauvage than the Bressandes though it retains good freshness and pinot noir character. The nose speaks primarily of plum and floral aromas that are in keeping with the sappy, rich, powerful and broad-shouldered flavors that drench the palate with dry extract on the very firmly structured and hugely long finish. This should be a great wine in time." (6/2011)95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Corton Clos du Roi reveals superb aromatic complexity and delineation, with expressive floral scents that are woven into th ...Read More »

2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos de la Bousse" (Pre-Arrival)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Clos de la Bousse d'Or presents a wild, almost unrestrained expression of Volnay. It is a sumptuous wine graced with stunning beauty in its opulent fruit. This shows marvelous detail and clarity with palate staining intensity. Despite its richness, there is plenty of vibrancy and freshness. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2049. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. 2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des 60 Ouvrées" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot Outstanding* The ripest nose to this point exhibits liqueur-like notes of plum, blue berry and violets that complement well the equally ripe, opulent and mineral-inflected flavors that are also quite full-bodied, all wrapped in a detailed, vibrant and hugely long finish. The underlying material here is superb and this should easily improve for the next 12 to 15 years and last for an equivalent period thereafter." (5/2011)93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full, bright red. Reticent but pure aromas of redcurrant, truffle and licorice; subdued but not at all roasted. 2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets" (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay En Caillerets bursts from the glass with a huge, explosive bouquet. Blackberries, blueberries, hard candy and spices are just a few of the notes that emerge from this layered, intense Burgundy. There is plenty of inner tension here, in fact the Caillerets appears to be holding back a lot of its potential. It is a dazzling wine though, and one built for the long haul. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2049. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. The vintage yielded a set of super-sized, big wines that may shock some readers for ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Les Mitans" (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Les Mitans is impressive. A highly expressive, beautifully articulated bouquet leads to a core of dark red fruit, mint and crushed flowers. This is an explosive, textured Mitans graced with incredible class and a crystalline purity that is hard to fully describe. The finish is simply eternal. (AG)" (5/2011)93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is usually the case, this is an exercise in finesse and understatement with a high-toned, cool and pure mineral-infused red pinot fruit nose that slides seamlessly into detailed, harmonious and mouth coating flavors that are very Voln ...Read More »

2009 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Bressandes (Pre-Arrival)

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Sweet Spot* A very ripe liqueur of red pinot fruit, plum and violet-infused nose leads to rich, elegant and very pure big-bodied and well-muscled flavors that possess impressively detailed and ample minerality on the firm but not hard, long and impeccably well-balanced finish. This explodes on the finish and like the Jarolières, it possesses plenty of underlying tension that imparts a highly attractive sense of vibrancy and life." 2009 Evening Land Vineyards "Blue Label" Bourgogne Chardonnay (Previously $20)

From the winery: "This wine was made in the traditional Burgundian style. After the manual harvest, the grapes were whole cluster pressed with a gentle Champagne cycle, settled overnight and then racked to barrels with fine lees. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and was then matured in French oak barrels (20% new oak)."

2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Echezeaux Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Domaine Jean Grivot Echezeaux Grand Cru (95BH, 95RP, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Echezeaux is pure silk. Black cherries, spices, licorice and tar are all woven together in a fabric of nearly indescribable elegance. All the elements fall into place as the Echezeaux captivates both the intellectual and hedonistic senses. This is a wine that impresses for its understated elegance. Readers won't find the drive of the Clos de Vougeot or the structure of the Richebourg. Instead, the Echezeaux possesses stunning textural finesse and phenomenal balance. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Etienne Grivot's 2009s were some of the most exciting wines I tasted on my most recent trip to Burgundy. (AG)" (04/2012)

88-91 points Wine Spectator: "and the fleshy, dense Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots, full of saturated black currant and black cherry flavors and brooding tannins" (2/2013) 87-89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(tasted from barrel; 100% vendange entier): Good bright, deep red. Chocolate, herbs, licorice and nutty oak on the nose; seems a bit advanced. Then lush and quite sweet but loose-knit, showing an almost candied character to its medicinal dark fruit flavors. Plenty of texture here but I wanted more energy and lift." (1/2013)

Peach nectar, honey, vanilla and musky lees on the nose. Concentrated, sweet and deep; wonderfully chewy grand cru and surprisingly open-knit today. A saline character adds an element of interest to the lingering finish. This seems approachable now but should have the stuffing to age. " (09/2011)

2009 Domaine Jayer-Gilles Echézeaux Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

Indeed, there is so much sap that this will be approachable in its youth but should age into a spectacular wine." Bid on this magnum of 2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Clos des Ducs" (1.5L) ((93-96BH), (93-95RP), (92-95ST)). 93-96 points Allen Meadows: "A fresh, perfumed and relatively high-toned nose of elegant and ultra-pure red pinot fruit that is liberally laced with stone and soil nuances that merges seamlessly into rich, detailed and precise flavors that ooze a wet stone character on the energetic, hugely complex and explosively long finish. This is almost always a classy effort but in 2009 it is also beautifully stylish..." 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Clos des Ducs is a wonderful foil to the Champans. Here the wine is quite a bit more introspective, with a flavor profile that moves towards the darker end of the spectrum. Hints of menthol, spices and licorice add complexity on the long, intensely building finish. The Clos des Ducs is a marvelously complete wine, but it will require patience. Tasted from tank. The minerality is so strong that there is a Chablis-like saline character. A classy effort of finesse." (5/2011)92 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2009 Volnay Fremiet is beautifully pointed. A lovely effort of class and grace that is less forbidding than usual." (May 06, 2011) 91-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Volnay Taillepieds opens with a dark, baritone expression of fruit. It is one of the more introspective wines here, but in the glass its sensual personality and round, layered fruit emerge over time. This gains impressive volume and intensity on the finish. Taillepieds is the highest 1er Cru in Volnay. Tasted from

Waves of fruit flow across the palate in stunning style. Rose petals, berries and sweet spices are among the nuances that emerge over time. Silky tannins frame the exceptionally long, refined finish. It is a fabulous effort from d’Angerville. Tasted from tank. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." (05/11) 93-95 points and Sweet spot Outstanding from Allen Meadows: "An incredibly complex, fresh and seductively perfumed nose offers up a wonderfully layered set of ripe red berry fruit, cassis, mineral and spice aromas that introduce sappy and lacy yet serious middle weight flavors that possess both excellent power and fine volume, all wrapped in a magnificently long finish. There is a subtle touch of minerality and the very firm tannins are clearly phenolically ripe plus with the wine's solid balance, this should be capable of aging well. Otherwise, there is clear ripeness and richness to the voluminous and extract-dense flavors that coat the mouth and stain the palate on the gorgeously persistent finish. This is beautifully well-balanced and very Charmes as there is both a generosity and refinement to the seductive flavors and very firm finish." 2009 Domaine Louis Jadot Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Louis Jadot Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (90-93BH, 90-92AG). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is one of the few wines to display noticeable reduction and it's enough to knock down the nose though my score assumes that this will be corrected before it is bottled. There is good richness and vibrancy to the solidly well-concentrated flavors that possess plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract though the palate impression of the finish is still quite firm, all wrapped in a backend that delivers excellent persistence. This is a bit more rough and tumble than one typically sees from a classic Griotte though it does not display any overt rusticity."

Hints of goudron and licorice add complexity to the dark, jammy fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2039. This is a stunning set of wines from Patrick Landager. There is a layered quality to the fruit I find especially appealing here. This is made from the estate’s larger piece in Clos de Vougeot measuring 2.7 hectares that Meo has christened Pres le Cellier."
