2002 Pintia (Vega Sicilia) Toro
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Pintia (Vega Sicilia) Toro (94RP, 90ST, 90WE). Robert Parker: "From a challenging vintage for Toro, Pintia’s 2002 is among the finest wines produced in that appellation. Pintia is a project of Vega Sicilia, ...there is no question the 2002 Pintia comes close to the 2001. It is a powerful, dense ruby/purple-tinged offering displaying flamboyant aromatics of blackberries, scorched earth, espresso roast, and cedar. Voluptuous, dense, and heady, with plenty of fat and glycerin, this is a head-turning, exuberant Spanish red to drink now and over the next 7-8 years."." (11/2005)

2005 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Clio, composed of 70% old-vine Monastrell and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, is opaque purple-colored with an enthralling bouquet of pain grille, spice box, violets, espresso, blueberry, and blackberry. Layered, opulent, and full-flavored, this thick wine has superb concentration and balance. It will evolve for 6-8 years and drink well through 2025. The winemaking at the El Nido project is overseen by renowned Australian vigneron Chris Ringland. After a meticulous selection process, the grapes are basket pressed and fermented in oak. Malolactic fermentation occurs in new French and American oak where the wine remains for 26 months. (JM)"

2004 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2004 Bodegas El Nido "Clio" Jumilla (97RP, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The consulting winemaker at Bodegas El Nido is Chris Ringland of Barossa Valley fame. The 2004 Clio is 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 70% Monastrell (from 63-year-old vines) which received malolactic fermentation in new oak followed by 26 months of aging in new French and American barriques. A glass-coating opaque purple, it exhibits a sensational nose of earth, mushroom, leather, blueberry, and blackberry jam. On the palate the wine is supple-textured, complex, with vibrant flavors of spicy blue and black fruits and a big-time WOW factor. This is a totally hedonistic effort with exceptional length and balance. It is remarkably light on its feet for such a powerful wine. (JM)" (02/2007)

2001 Pintia, Toro
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Pintia, Toro (95RP, 92ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 80,000 bottles of this wine, a project of Vega Sicilia’s owners. The spectacular 2001 boasts an inky/purple color in addition to wonderful aromas of creme de cassis, melted licorice, truffles, and smoky, toasty oak. Intensely concentrated but not overdone, this voluptuously thick, rich red possesses fine acidity as well as well-integrated, sweet tannin. It will offer a sumptuous mouthful of wine over the next 7-8 years." (04/2004)

2006 Viña Cobos "Marchiori Vineyard" Malbec Mendoza
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Viña Cobos "Marchiori Vineyard" Malbec Mendoza (99RP, 93WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "According to Hobbs, 2006 was one of the great vintages of his 20 year career in Argentina. The near perfect 2006 Cobos Malbec Marchiori Vineyard is my favorite of this remarkable collection. A glass-coating, saturated opaque purple/black in color, the wine offers up a sexy/kinky bouquet of pain grille, Asian spices, pencil lead, mineral, lavender, blueberry, and black cherry. On the palate there is layer upon layer of savory fruit, spice notes, espresso, and chocolate as well as exquisite balance. The wine’s finish lasts for more than a minute. Try a bottle, bury the rest in your cellar for ten years, and then drink them from 2018 to 2040. " (12/2008)

1970 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this bottle of 1970 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero (97RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "For many years, the 1970 Unico was the greatest Spanish wine that I had ever tasted, and although this was not the same caliber as the previous perfect example, it remains a fabulous wine. It is a blend of 70% Tinto Fino, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot and Malbec and aged for ten years in barriques. It has a thrilling Bordeaux-like personality on the nose that is more aloof than other vintages. The Cabernet component in the blend is pronounced, forming the backbone and austerity of this wine. However, you cannot deny its power and its breeding, or indeed its obdurate, masculine finish that demands respect. This is a Unico you have to look up to, perhaps the sister of Chateau Latour in this same year. 94,500 bottles produced. Drink now-2030+. (NM)" (08/2012)

Of the 1985 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco,Praise from Antonio Galloni writes: "Produttori del Barbaresco is one of the few estates in the world that continues to produce fine, age worthy wines at consumer-friendly prices. Although the Produttori's Barbarescos - the Riservas in particular - age extremely well, until recently the wines haven't been considered collectible. Because of their reasonable prices, most of the wines have long been drunk up by the estate's loyal supporters, making older vintages nearly impossible to source, even in the secondary market. This tasting provided an extraordinary opportunity to get a progress report on 21of the estate's single-vineyard Barbarescos. The wines spanned 5 importan
