2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon, RBS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard RBS, which is also from Clone 337 but from different blocks on the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, saw oak with 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud. This wine seems slightly more expansive, shares the black ruby/purple color with all of it siblings, and has a boatload of crème de cassis, incense, licorice, graphite and vanilla along with plenty of spice box and forest floor. This is a killer, full-bodied, super-duper, opulent Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Red Blend (92RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Quilceda Creek's 2009 Red Wine – which includes 15% of Merlot and near-negligible amounts of Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc – nicely integrates preserved walnut, toasted pecan, and green herbal elements into a matrix of cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, and confitured dark berries. There is a hint of heat to the finish of this plush, plump offering, but neither that nor the wines torrefied elements detract from a torrent of sweet berry juiciness, nor preclude a sense of energy and a dynamic interaction of myriad elements. I suspect, based on intuition as well as reliable reports – although I have scarcely any personal experience as yet with older Quilceda Creek wines – that this will remain well worth following for at least a decade. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96CG, 96WS, 95JS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 24 months in new French oak, this infant 2007 exhibits an inky/purple color along with notes of graphite, spring flowers and smoky oak. This full-bodied, classic Insignia reveals fabulous depth, ripeness, texture, viscosity and richness. Still young and unformed, it should evolve for 25 or more years. Perhaps I should just go ahead and give this 2007 a three-digit score as it is a profoundly great Cabernet Sauvignon-based effort. The production was 13,500 cases of this 100% estate fruit blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. The alcohol came in at 14.5%. The growing season was nearly ideal, with early bud break, generous flowering, a bountiful crop size, and summer weather that was warm and dry with no significant heat spikes. According to the Phelps winemaking team, the cluster grape weights in 2007 came

Powerful, smoke-accented aromas of black and blue fruit preserves, olive and licorice, with a spicy topnote. Shows textbook Syrah character and intense blueberry and cassis flavors lifted by tangy acidity. Finishes smoky, sweet and very long, with smooth tannins lending shape and gentle grip. " (05/2014)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2002 Kistler "Vine Hill" Russian River Valley Chardonnay ((92-95RP), 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A spectacular offering, the 2002 Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard (adjacent to the Kistler winery) tastes like a California version of a great Batard-Montrachet. This dense, rich, layered, multidimensional Chardonnay builds incrementally in the mouth to reveal leesy notes intermixed with liquid minerals, lemon rind, citrus oils, and orange marmalade. Like its siblings, it reveals subtle oak notes along with great purity, tremendous palate presence, full body, and a majestic style. However, patience will be required. (RP)" (12/2003)

Of the 2012 Realm Cellars "The Bard" Napa Valley Red Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2012 Proprietary Red The Bard, a 500-case blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, is meant to showcase the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes they access from such great Napa Valley sites as Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Fortuna and Weitz. Beautiful notes of pungent baking spices, licorice, melted chocolate, espresso, blackberries and cassis soar from the glass of this ostentatious, flamboyant, classic, locked-and-loaded Cabernet Sauvignon. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (96RP, 95WS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Fermented in concrete, then aged in demi-muids, only around 20% of which were new, Baron’s 2009 Syrah En Cerise Vineyard incorporates a mouthwateringly savory alliance of smoke meat and soy sauce to its luxuriantly rich, silken-textured matrix of confitured cassis and cherry, further laced with salted caramel, while striking perfume of mint, gentian, cardamom, and rose wood hovers above the glass and inner-mouth. The finish here lingers with an uncanny combination of seductive caress, vibrancy, richness, and buoyancy, its many flavor strands -- floral, fruited, animal, spice and mineral -- dynamically intertwining. I would surely give at least some bottles of it 12-15 years’ opportunity to show their true potential. Cautious as I attempt to be in drawing such parallels, if Baron’s latest Cailloux bottling resembles Verset Cornas, then this En Cerise put

2007 Linne Calodo "Screwball" Paso Robles Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Linne Calodo "Screwball" Paso Robles Syrah (92RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The affectionately named 2007 Screwball (90% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre) is again a wine with loads of floral-infused, deep berry fruit and blackberries, a hint of charcoal, a lush, fat concentrated mouthfeel, and a full-bodied finish with loads of glycerin and intensity. It’s a beauty and should drink nicely for 10-15 years. This is one of my favorite wineries in the Central Coast. The brain trust behind it is the one and only Matt Trevisan, who has moved into a state-of-the-art winery and barrel-aging facility. Additionally, he is just beginning to get some fruit off the first plantings in the 18-acre estate vineyard. Production is up to about 3,800 to 4,000 cases, although like everyone else in the Central Coast region, yields have been very small in 2007, 2008, and 2009. 2008 has turned out very well for Trevisan, but the yields were extremely small. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (94RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Opening up considerably since I tasted it from barrel, the 2010 Esprit de Beaucastel is a superb blend of 45% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, 21% Syrah and 4% Counoise that was aged all in foudre. It delivers loads of ripe blackberry, plum, licorice, roasted herbs and hints of flowers to go with a medium to full-bodied, rich and mouth-filling profile on the palate. Textured, layered and rich, with a firm underlying core of tannin, this superbly balanced beauty should be given 2-3 years of bottle age and then consumed over the following decade. Drink 2015-2025. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (93BH, 93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I have loved this wine the two or three times I have tasted it and this is easily the best bottle I have encountered. The nose here is much more immediate, with a stunning mineral nose, hints of brioche coming through like last time, but with even more precision and focus, flinty scents developing with time. The palate is clean, tense and refined with hazelnut and quince, a weightlessness and poise that is quite hypnotic. This is one of my favorite white Burgundy wines, and this 2006 is impressive. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve a half-dozen times this year, and it may be the finest Cabernet ever from Mondavi." From RP's 1996 tasting notes: "...The deep opaque purple color, and tightly wound nose and flavors still reveal enough profound aromas and flavors to mark this as one of Mondavi's most sensational efforts. The nose possesses a Margaux/Mouton-like cassis, lead pencil, floral aroma, backed-up by copious quantities of blackcurrant fruit. In the mouth, my notes said, 'great stuff.' The wine is full-bodied, layered, multi-dimensional, and astonishingly well-balanced, with an inner-depth and core of exceptional richness and intensity. All of this has been accomplished without any notion of obtrusive weight, tannin, or alcohol. The finish lasts for 35+ seconds. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93CG, 93ST, 93WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The phenomenal 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour is the greatest BV Private Reserve made since the 1970 and 1968. The good news is 11,000 cases were produced. The return of this superb Napa classic is fabulous news, and the brilliance of this wine is evidenced by its opaque purple color and its big, sweet, blackberry, cassis, subtle smoke, graphite, and spicy oak-scented nose. Dense and full-bodied with sweet but substantial tannins, thrilling levels of concentration, texture, and richness, and a heady finish, this wine will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age, and last three decades or more. Of the 2012 Rivers-Marie "Occidental Ridge Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir,Antonio Galloni writes: "The 2012 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard is arguably the most dense and compact of these Pinots. Here, it is the wine's structure that stands out most. Whereas most of the 2012 Rivers-Marie Pinots are drinking well right now, the Occidental Ridge is a wine that needs to be cellared for at least another year or two. Firm tannins support a salivating finish laced with dark red and blue tones fruit, crushed rocks and chalk. A dollop of whole clusters (10%) adds nuance. 1995 Kalin Cellars "Cuvée LD" Sonoma County Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 1995 Kalin Cellars "Cuvée LD" Sonoma County Chardonnay (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is no typographical erro--the current release is the 1995 Chardonnay Cuvee LD. This reasonably priced white was bottled without filtration in August, 1996. Nearly fifteen years later, it still exhibits a light straw color with only a hint of gold. The wine is amazingly youthful, offering up notes of unbuttered popcorn, white currants, white peaches, honeysuckle and background earth and orange/nectarine characteristics. Medium to full-bodied with zesty acidity and, by California's standards, moderately high alcohol (14.8%), it should continue to drink well for at least another decade. No kidding. (RP)" (02/2011)

2005 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2005 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, saturated ruby-red. Deep aromas of black fruits, violet, tobacco, licorice, minerals, nuts and earth. Lush, rich and sweet, with an intriguing smoky character and lovely lightness for a wine with so much breadth and volume. Unusually powerful and deep for this bottling; complex and distinctive. In a rather Old World style, with complex soil tones currently dominating primary fruitiness. Finishes broad and dry, with very lush, fine tannins. A superb vintage for this estate. Winemaker Brookman noted that this was a large crop but the team made three separate passes through the vines to reduce the crop level and then harvested later than ever here. The Grace wine was once aged in all new barrels but as of 2005 that percentage has been cut to 80% to 85%. (ST)" (06/2008)

1998 Montrose, St-Estèphe
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Montrose, St-Estèphe (90RP, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A classic effort, the 1998 Montrose exhibits a dense purple color in addition to a sweet nose of jammy cassis, licorice, earth, and smoke. It is a powerful and full-bodied wine with well-integrated tannin. Given Montrose's tendency to shut down, it is performing better out of bottle than I expected. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2030. 1998 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1998 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95WE, 92CG, 91WS, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select was produced during a challenging vintage in Napa Valley with an incredible heat wave in mid-July, with temperatures at the Hillside Select property hitting an astonishing 114 degrees. This was brutal for the grapes, but a strict selection, and as Doug and John Shafer said, “We make no excuses at this winery.” Certainly, this was one of the great successes in this vintage. Very tiny yields from small, rather shriveled berries produced a super-extracted, rich, intense wine that has some smokey barbecue notes along with blackcurrants, cedar wood, wet rocks and background oak and burning embers. There's almost a Graves-like, scorched earth character to this vintage. This medium to full-bodied wine is intense and undeniably one of the top ten wines in Napa Valley. Moreover, it should con

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A stunning yet reasonably priced, high end Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. The final bottling from the extraordinary Larkmead Vineyard, it boasts a dense purple color as well as a big, sweet bouquet of blueberry and black currant fruit intertwined with licorice, bay leaf, cedar and fruitcake notes. Full-bodied and opulent, this precocious 2007 is drinkable now and should evolve for another 15+ years. (RP)" (12/2010)

2005 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2005 Branaire-Ducru, St-Julien (1.5L) (95RP, 95WE, 94ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As usual, the 2005 Branaire-Ducru is one of the more distinctive wines of St.-Julien. Proprietor Patrick Maroteaux has turned out another classic. While not as opulent or fleshy as the 2003, and it remains to be seen if it will eclipse the 2000, the 2005 is a big, structured, intensely rich effort with raspberry, blueberry, and spring flower garden characteristics, stunning purity, full-bodied power, and good underlying acidity as well as harmony. The hard tannins suggest 8-9 years of cellaring will be beneficial; it should last for three decades. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030+." (04/2008)

2008 Anderson's Conn Valley "Right Bank" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2008 Anderson's Conn Valley "Right Bank" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The lightest of the three vintages, the 2008 is a full-bodied effort displaying lots of cassis, bay leaf, charcoal, and subtle smoke. Expect it to drink well for 15 or so years. Tucked away in the sometimes seemingly forgotten Conn Valley, this winery is run with considerable gusto by Todd Anderson and his winemaker Mac Sawyer. This is an undeniable source of very complex and potentially age worthy wines... The Right Bank cuvee is made from Merlot, which usually dominates, and the rest Cabernet Franc. This offering has been a winner since its debut release and it continues to be one of Napa Valley’s most interesting wines. " (12/2010)

Black cherries, spices, licorice and tar are all woven together in a fabric of nearly indescribable elegance. All the elements fall into place as the Echezeaux captivates both the intellectual and hedonistic senses. This is a wine that impresses for its understated elegance. Readers won't find the drive of the Clos de Vougeot or the structure of the Richebourg. Instead, the Echezeaux possesses stunning textural finesse and phenomenal balance. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039. Etienne Grivot's 2009s were some of the most exciting wines I tasted on my most recent trip to Burgundy. (AG)" (04/2012)
