2005 Duhart-Milon-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Duhart-Milon-Rothschild, Pauillac (94RP, 93WS, 91ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest Duhart-Milon ever made? This structured, tannic, dense ruby/purple-tinged Pauillac offers up hints of cassis, licorice, chocolate, and earth. Medium to full-bodied with good purity, strong tannins, and undeniable elegance, it reveals a character not dissimilar from its renowned sibling, Lafite-Rothschild... It is unquestionably outstanding, but to my taste, slightly less opulent than the estate’s ethereal 2003. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030. (RP)" (04/2008)

2009 Gracia, St-Emilion
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Gracia, St-Emilion (98RP, 94JS, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gracia competes handsomely with the spectacular 2005 and 2000 vintages. A slightly more evolved and fleshy effort, the inky/purple-hued 2009 (75 % Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a massive, thick powerhouse with 14.5% natural alcohol. Proprietor Michel Gracia often makes a wine that is similar to that of his friend, the proprietor of Ausone. Blueberry, blackberry, licorice, forest floor, smoke and graphite aromas jump from the glass of this unctuously textured, layered, multidimensional St.-Emilion. Displaying an inner core of extract (yields were only 19 hectoliters per hectare) and not a hard edge to be found, this youthful 2009 tastes more like a barrel sample than a finished wine. It will benefit from 5-10 years of cellaring and should last for 3-4 decades." (02/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets" (93BH, 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2009 Volnay Les Caillerets is one of the more focused, vibrant wines in this lineup. Dark red fruit, mint and spices are some of the nuances that emerge in the glass. The Caillerets impresses for its drive and sheer energy, both qualities that should allow it to age gracefully for a number of years. D’Angerville’s 0.5 hectare plot is at the top of the vineyard. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." (05/2011)

Of the 1998 Monbousquet, St-Emilion,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Yields of 28-30 hectoliters per hectare are among the lowest in St.-Emilion, which no doubt accounts for the wine's explosive richness. The final blend, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in 100% new oak, with aging on the lees. It boasts a saturated plum/purple color in addition to an exotic bouquet of Asian spices, plum liqueur, prunes, and blackberries. 2009 Le Dôme, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Le Dôme, St-Emilion (99RP, 95JS, 95ST, 95WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most distinctive wines made in Bordeaux, Le Dome has one of the highest percentages of Cabernet Franc of any claret I can think of. Composed of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, it exhibits a certain delicacy and elegance (due to the Cabernet Franc component) in addition to resounding power, concentration, depth and multidimensional personality. Black/purple to the rim, it offers strikingly intense notes of spring flowers, raspberries, mulberries and wood smoke, medium to full body, sweet tannin and a cunning intensity and texture that suggest finesse and delicacy. However, the wine’s richness, length and lingering depth build incrementally in this exceptional St.-Emilion. It will be drinkable in 4-5 years and should age for two decades or more. This is Jonathan Malthus’ finest wine to date. (RP)" (02/2012)

1973 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (Picasso Label)
Bid on this bottle of 1973 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac. Chris Kissack's TheWineDoctor.com: "Phillippe Rothschild called it '...the monstrous injustice' of Mouton's second growth status. For years the labels stated simply 'Premier ne puis, second ne daigne, Mouton suis,' or 'First I cannot be, second I do not deign to be, I am Mouton'. It was clear from the great vintages produced in the 1860s and 1870s that the 1855 classification was already outdated, and that change was long overdue. But no such review of this classification will ever take place, and it was only thanks to the tireless campaigning of Philippe that Jacques Chirac, then Minister of Agriculture, passed a decree conferring the status of first growth upon Mouton-Rothschild in 1973. At last the wrong had been righted, and from then on Mouton's labels bore a new inscription, 'Premier je suis, second je fus. Mouton ne change,' or 'First I am, second I was. Mouton does not change'."

Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very attractive and notably complex nose of floral, spice and black pinot fruit and violet aromas complements intense, linear and balanced medium full flavors that offer good punch, moderate power and fine length. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 96JS, 96WS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest wine ever made by proprietors Daniel and Florence Cathiard, the 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte exhibits an opaque blue/purple color in addition to a glorious nose of acacia flowers, licorice, charcoal, blueberries, black raspberries, lead pencil shavings and incense. This massive, extraordinarily rich, unctuously textured wine may be the most concentrated effort produced to date, although the 2000, 2005 and 2010 are nearly as prodigious. A gorgeous expression of Pessac-Leognan with sweet tannin, emerging charm and delicacy, and considerable power, depth, richness and authority, it should age effortlessly for 30-40+ years. Bravo!" Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (97RP, 95JS, (89-92ST), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, it displays an inky/blue/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice, lead pencil, cedar and subtle barrique smells. Viscous and full-bodied, it is the most concentrated and broadest example of this cuvee I have tasted in over three decades. It will be ready to drink in 5-7 years and should last for three decades or more. Consumers looking to maximize value should be checking out Duhart Milon, as this may be the single smartest purchase in this great and historic vintage!" (02/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Lucien le Moine Corton-Renardes Grand Cru ((90-93BH), (92-93RP), (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The twin barrels of Le Moine 2008 Corton Renardes are even more tender in texture than their Bressandes sibling, as well as sweeter in their still-tart fruit (here strawberry, cherry, and rhubarb). Brown spices, browned butter, and hints of caramel make for an appealing cookie dough-like aspect on this wine’s subtly creamy and palpably dense yet buoyant palate. Nor are herbal or floral nuances entirely neglected in the complex performance. A smoky, Latakia-like note graces this wine’s long finish. I suspect 12-15 years will prove a sufficiently conservative estimate of its potential. (DS)" (06/2010)

1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan (95RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This vintage is aging at a glacial pace and the tannins are currently more significant than their counterbalancing components of fruit and glycerin. While the word “potential” seems to be the most positive descriptor for this vintage, there are some nagging doubts about whether all the tannins will melt away and the fruit will hold. As in most 1995s, the color remains a healthy dark plum/purple. One of the bigger wines of the vintage, the ripe, powerful Merlot component has buttressed the Cabernet elements, giving the wine plenty of body, tannin and La Mission’s classic asphalt, cassis, blackberry, smoky barbecue, meaty notes intermixed with a hint of hot rocks. The 1995 is still a young wine and I am beginning to wonder if this vintage overall will resemble 1975 rather than something with more charm? Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035?. (95+) (RP)" (08/2012)

Of the 2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Very pale, green-tinged color. Reticent, somewhat reduced, soil-driven aromas of crushed stone, petrol and lime blossom. Its licorice, black cherry syrup, and chocolate chip cookie dough-scented nose leads to a hugely powerful, medium to full-bodied character. A classic blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and the rest Syrah, Vaccarese and Counoise, all aged in large foudres in Clos des Papes's air-conditioned and humidity-controlled wine cellar, the wine boasts a dense purple color along with lots of gorgeously pure black raspberry, black currant and kirsch liqueur notes intermixed with notions of spring flowers, tapenade, licorice and spice box. This dense, full-bodied, powerful Chateauneuf is also remarkably fresh and well-delineated. It even exceeded the 2007 in natural alcohol, coming in at 15.9%. With an extraordinary texture and considerable tannin in the finish, it will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age, and is built for 25-30 years of cellaring. Don't miss it! 1986 Margaux, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98AG, 98RP, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A magnificent example of Chateau Margaux and one of the most tannic, backward Margauxs of the last 50 years, the 1986 continues to evolve at a glacial pace. The color is still a dense ruby/purple with just a hint of lightening at the rim. With several hours of aeration, the aromatics become striking, with notes of smoke, toast, creme de cassis, mineral, and white flowers. Very full-bodied, with high but sweet tannin, great purity, and a very masculine, full-bodied style, this wine should prove nearly immortal in terms of its aging potential. Muscular and powerful, with a serious, full-bodied profile, it gives up incredible aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, licorice, graphite, beef blood and loamy earth. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Dujac Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Les Malconsorts" (91BH, 90RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " *Outstanding* An overtly spiced nose adds nuance to the red berry fruit aromas laced with earth notes that merge into moderately-scaled and intense flavors that possess good volume and concentration as well as impressive persistence. The inherent breed of the appellation is quite evident." (01/2010)

Black in color, with incredible aromas of crushed blackberry, mineral, licorice and lead pencil. Full-bodied, with a mind-blowing texture of seamless tannins that coat every millimeter of the palate. 1957 Maison Leroy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Cazetiers"
Bid on this bottle of 1957 Maison Leroy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Cazetiers" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(With thanks to Dr. Reed Day). Bricked through though a core of ruby remains. As one would expect the nose is dominated by sous bois and earth aromas that possess the classic Cazetiers animale component that carries over to the delicious and impressively complex flavors that evidence both the minerality and robust muscle that would reasonably be expected, all wrapped in a long, sappy and ever-so-mildly austere finish that is characteristic of the '57 vintage. Note that this was a recent Leroy release and therefore is probably in better shape than older releases." (12/2009)

Bid on this 10-bottle lot of 2009 Kirwan, Margaux (94JS, 93WE, 92RP, 92WS). James Suckling: "This is a wine that seduces you, with its crushed blackberries and hints of dark chocolate that follow through to a full body and ultra-fine tannins with a tangy, fresh finish. Solid as a rock. Best ever from here. Try in 2019." (02/2012)

2009 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Léognan (98RP, 97JS, 94ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A dense ruby/purple-tinged color offers up notes of forest floor, subtle wood smoke, mulberries, black cherries, cassis and a hint of lead pencil shavings. There is even a floral component lurking in the intricate aromatic profile. The wine is medium to full-bodied with wonderful intensity that builds incrementally and has a long, silky, luscious finish. There is plenty of tannin, but it is largely concealed by the wine’s beautiful fruit and ethereal complexity. Given its virtually perfect balance, this brilliant Haut-Bailly should age effortlessly for 3-4 decades. This is a tour de force in winemaking, particularly for readers seeking the quintessential example of a Bordeaux that combines compelling complexity and finesse with significant flavor authority and intensity. I suppose we could see this coming as American owner, Robert Wilmers, along with his winemaker/manag

2008 Le Gay, Pomerol (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Le Gay, Pomerol (OWC - 94RP, 92ST, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top successes of the vintage, the 2008 Le Gay, a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc (13.5% alcohol) was produced from tiny yields of 25 hectoliters per hectare. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it exhibits a dense purple color as well as a sweet nose of spring flowers intermixed with blueberries, blackberries, dark raspberries, crushed rocks and white chocolate. Full-bodied, super intense and extremely promising (although it is unusually backward for a 2008), it will benefit from 5-7 years of cellaring and may merit an even higher score in a decade or so. It should last for 30+ years, making it one of the longest-lived wines of the vintage. (RP)" (05/2011)

Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2009 Laforge, St-Emilion (OWC - 96RP, 92ST, 90WS, 89WE, 16DC) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From proprietor Jonathan Maltus, this blend of three terroirs, two on sand and one on gravel, is a blend of 92% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. About 2,000 cases are produced, and the prodigious 2009 is the finest vintage to date. Inky blue/purple, with notes of licorice, camphor, black truffle, blackberry and blueberry, this full-bodied wine has massive concentration yet at the same time displays elegance and harmony. The equilibrium and 60+-second length make for a huge, massive, but incredibly well-balanced wine, like a shadow of the proprietor himself. Drink it over the next 15 or more years. " (02/2012)

2009 Saint-Pierre, St-Julien
Bid on this 8-bottle lot of 2009 Saint-Pierre, St-Julien (98RP, 93JS, 93ST, 92WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The all-time greatest wine I have ever tasted from Saint-Pierre, this estate, the smallest of the grand cru classes of St.-Julien, has an opaque purple color and a spectacular nose of subtle charcoal, creme de cassis, blackberry, and incense. Full-bodied, with striking intensity and flamboyantly rich, exuberant flavors bursting with extract, the St. Pierre has no hard edges, but rather massive, incredibly well-endowed blockbuster style, which should prove to be monumental. Give it 6-8 years to take on more definition and calm down, but this is a 30- to 40-year wine. Bravo! (RP)" (02/2012)

2010 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage (96RP, 96ST, 94WS, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It should be fascinating to compare the potentially legendary 2010 Hermitage La Chapelle with the prodigious 2009 La Chapelle over the next 30-40 years. About 20% new oak was used, and, as were previous vintages, the 2010 was aged 15 months prior to bottling. This black/purple-colored beauty is revealing more weight and richness than it did last year from barrel, along with great precision, stunning minerality and enormous quantities of blackberry, cassis, beef blood and smoked game intertwined with hints of graphite and acacia flowers. With good acidity and richness as well as abundant, but ripe, well-integrated tannin, this great wine equals the titan produced in 2009. Forget it for 7-10 years and drink it over the following 30-50 years. 96+ (RP)" (12/2012)

Full-bodied, with masses of tannins yet incredibly long and seductive. Best after 2012. " (03/2006)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Perrieres" ((91-93ST), 92BH, (89-90RP)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full yellow color. Sexy aromas of truffle, vanilla, nut oil and charry oak. Superrich and sweet yet taut, with notes of stone fruits, nut oil and spices. This charming, rather fat wine shows an almost Meursault-like texture today. Boillot says this will be less exotic after a sulfur treatment. " (09/2007)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Ramonet Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (93BH, 93RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " I have loved this wine the two or three times I have tasted it and this is easily the best bottle I have encountered. The nose here is much more immediate, with a stunning mineral nose, hints of brioche coming through like last time, but with even more precision and focus, flinty scents developing with time. The palate is clean, tense and refined with hazelnut and quince, a weightlessness and poise that is quite hypnotic. This is one of my favorite white Burgundy wines, and this 2006 is impressive. Excellent. Drink now-2022. (NM)" (06/2014)
