2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc (OWC)
Bid on this 12-bottle lot of 2010 Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc (OWC - 94JS, 94RP, 92WE, 91WS, 90ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine needs a good 7-10 years of cellaring and should keep for 30 more years, but this is the finest Cantemerle I have encountered in my professional career of tasting young vintages (dating back 34 years now). Stunningly deep ruby/purple, with a beautiful nose of spring flowers intermixed with perfumed raspberry and blueberry notes, it exhibits a sort of cool-climate character. Broad, rich and intense on the palate, the wine has plenty of tannins, but they are sweet and well-integrated. Everything is delicately entwined into this beautiful, medium to full-bodied, dense purple wine, which shows stunning character and a prodigious potential for development. This is definitely a major sleeper of the vintage and even better than I thought from barrel. With its 2010, this classified growth located in the southern end of the Medoc may well have m

2009 Croix de Labrie, St-Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Croix de Labrie, St-Emilion (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Always one of Bordeaux's most endearing and charming wines, Croix de Labrie's wines generally offer an unctuous texture as well as enormous quantities of fruit. Made from 100% Merlot, the 2009 (about 300 cases produced) exhibits smoky black currant and raspberry liqueur notes intermixed with notions of licorice, graphite and wood smoke. Intense and unctuously textured with low acidity as well as sweet tannin, it is a hedonistic St.-Emilion fruit bomb to enjoy in its first 12-15 years of life. Sadly, it is virtually impossible to find this head-turning claret. (RP)" (02/2012)

1999 Lalou Bize-Leroy Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1999 Lalou Bize-Leroy Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark ruby-colored 1999 Mazis-Chambertin has an awesome nose that reveals violets, intense blackberries, and sweet cherries. This deep, profound wine has admirable focus, great purity, harmony, and a mind-bogglingly long finish. Loads of tangy griotte (morello) cherries can be found throughout this exceptional wine's character. It is powerful, elegant, and extroverted. (PR)" (06/2001)

2009 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Forman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon appears to have clamped down a bit since I tasted it last year. An unusually up-front, juicy wine from Forman, the 2009 is laced with expressive dark red fruit, flowers, mint, cinnamon, licorice and menthol. There is a softness and suppleness to the 2009 that is impossible not to love. Layers of fruit continue to build on the juicy, silky finish. The 2009 looks to be one of the more accessible wines of the vintage, but it also needs at least several years to lose some of its baby fat and primary notes. The French oak is also a bit prominent, providing one clue as to the wine’s ultimate potential vis-a-vis the monumental 2010. The 2009 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG)" (12/2012)

2005 Duhart-Milon-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Duhart-Milon-Rothschild, Pauillac (94RP, 93WS, 91ST, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest Duhart-Milon ever made? This structured, tannic, dense ruby/purple-tinged Pauillac offers up hints of cassis, licorice, chocolate, and earth. Medium to full-bodied with good purity, strong tannins, and undeniable elegance, it reveals a character not dissimilar from its renowned sibling, Lafite-Rothschild... It is unquestionably outstanding, but to my taste, slightly less opulent than the estate’s ethereal 2003. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2030. (RP)" (04/2008)

2009 Gracia, St-Emilion
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Gracia, St-Emilion (98RP, 94JS, 94ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Gracia competes handsomely with the spectacular 2005 and 2000 vintages. A slightly more evolved and fleshy effort, the inky/purple-hued 2009 (75 % Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a massive, thick powerhouse with 14.5% natural alcohol. Proprietor Michel Gracia often makes a wine that is similar to that of his friend, the proprietor of Ausone. Blueberry, blackberry, licorice, forest floor, smoke and graphite aromas jump from the glass of this unctuously textured, layered, multidimensional St.-Emilion. Displaying an inner core of extract (yields were only 19 hectoliters per hectare) and not a hard edge to be found, this youthful 2009 tastes more like a barrel sample than a finished wine. It will benefit from 5-10 years of cellaring and should last for 3-4 decades." (02/2012)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Caillerets" (93BH, 93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2009 Volnay Les Caillerets is one of the more focused, vibrant wines in this lineup. Dark red fruit, mint and spices are some of the nuances that emerge in the glass. The Caillerets impresses for its drive and sheer energy, both qualities that should allow it to age gracefully for a number of years. D’Angerville’s 0.5 hectare plot is at the top of the vineyard. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2039." (05/2011)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Schrader Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is one of the more plush, overt wines in this lineup. There is tremendous depth in the fruit in this massive, sweeping wine. The aromas and flavors build towards the cascading finish. The Schrader is a decidedly big, muscular wine that emphasizes power over detail. The Schrader is predominantly clone 4 from the D2 block, with a dollop of clone 6 from the D2 block and clone 337 from the B2 block. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. (AG)"

Aged 22 months in mostly used oak (various sizes), it offers awesome purity and freshness in its black raspberry, cassis, ground herbs, white pepper and licorice-driven bouquet. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2003 Kistler "Kistler Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Chardonnay ((94-96RP), 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard has a Corton-Charlemagne-like personality. Notes of acacia flower, stone fruits, liqueur of rocks, some orange blossom notes intermixed with apple skin, and hints of hazelnut and lemon butter are all present in this full-bodied, stony, mineral-dominated wine that is undeniably impressive. 2002 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Quilceda Creek Washington Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 97WE, 93ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Almost as good as the 2003, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc that spent 22 months in 100% new French oak. Its youthful purple/ruby color is followed by gorgeously complex and intense aromas of wild herbs, exotic spices, caramelized beef, licorice and layers of sweet black fruits and creamy black cherry-like nuances. Full-bodied, rich and incredibly youthful, it opens up beautifully in the glass and is a total thrill ride of a Washington State Cabernet. I’d enjoy bottles over the coming decade, but it will hold longer. Drink now-2027. (JD)" (06/2013)

2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Caymus "Special Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96WS, 93AG, 92W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection exhibits an opaque purple color, slightly more toasty oak in the aromatics, and explosive richness on the attack, mid-palate and length. The nose is slightly more restrained than in the regular bottling, but there is no doubting the Special Selection is a cut or two above the Napa bottling when it hits the palate. Extraordinary purity of fruit, creme de cassis, licorice and incense all emerge from this full-bodied, iconic classic. It can be enjoyed now and over the next 25+ years. (RP)" (10/2013)

Of the 2010 Rhys "Alpine Vineyard" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir,Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Dark ruby. Exotic, intensely perfumed black raspberry and cherry aromas are complemented by cola, star anise and licorice. Juicy, impressively precise dark fruit flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and a slow-building blood orange quality. Of the 2011 DuMol Russian River Valley Chardonnay,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2011 Chardonnay Russian River is a blend from some of the finest Sonoma vineyards, including Ritchie, Lorenzo, Hyde, DuMol and Heintz. Largely made from the Old Wente clone of Chardonnay blended with some of the Mt. Eden clone, it was barrel-fermented and aged 14 months on its lees with no lees stirring and only about 30% new French oak used. A light green/straw color is followed by terrific aromas of white peaches, pineapples, brioche, and a hint of creme brulee. Of the 1998 Monbousquet, St-Emilion,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Yields of 28-30 hectoliters per hectare are among the lowest in St.-Emilion, which no doubt accounts for the wine's explosive richness. The final blend, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in 100% new oak, with aging on the lees. The 1997 Napa is an impressive effort. A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, this wine has a flamboyant nose of fruitcake, licorice, Asian spice, black currants, and toasty wood. Bid on this bottle of 2012 Lail Vineyards "J. Daniel Cuvée" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, (91-94ST), 92AG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely perfect and one of the monumental wines of my long tasting trip in Napa is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Daniel Cuvée. I didn’t see this from barrel last year. Aged 20 months in 75% new French oak and representing 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from three vineyard sources: one in Calistoga, one in Oakville and one in Howell Mountain. Robin Lail and winemaker Philippe Melka hit pay dirt with a wine that has an inky purple color, an almost amazing bouquet that reminded me of 1989 Chateau Montrose when it was young. Sweet almost truffle-infused earth, graphite, forest floor, blackcurrant and black cherry notes are followed by a full-bodied wine with a hint of mocha and licorice. Superb purity, an incremental, yet full-bodied mouthfeel, and an extravagant, layered texture and finish make for the finest wine Robin Lail has produced to date

Bid on this bottle of 2009 Le Dôme, St-Emilion (99RP, 95JS, 95ST, 95WE, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most distinctive wines made in Bordeaux, Le Dome has one of the highest percentages of Cabernet Franc of any claret I can think of. Composed of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, it exhibits a certain delicacy and elegance (due to the Cabernet Franc component) in addition to resounding power, concentration, depth and multidimensional personality. Black/purple to the rim, it offers strikingly intense notes of spring flowers, raspberries, mulberries and wood smoke, medium to full body, sweet tannin and a cunning intensity and texture that suggest finesse and delicacy. However, the wine’s richness, length and lingering depth build incrementally in this exceptional St.-Emilion. It will be drinkable in 4-5 years and should age for two decades or more. This is Jonathan Malthus’ finest wine to date. (RP)" (02/2012)

It can be drunk with enormous pleasure now, but promises to evolve for at least a quarter of a century. For historical buffs, the Dr. Crane Vineyard is named after a real doctor, who first planted the vineyard in 1858. An infant in terms of development, it exhibits a smoky meatiness along with a forest floor character as well as its siblings’ colossal level of concentration, enormous, multilayered texture, and skyscraper-like mouthfeel. For years the labels stated simply 'Premier ne puis, second ne daigne, Mouton suis,' or 'First I cannot be, second I do not deign to be, I am Mouton'. It was clear from the great vintages produced in the 1860s and 1870s that the 1855 classification was already outdated, and that change was long overdue. But no such review of this classification will ever take place, and it was only thanks to the tireless campaigning of Philippe that Jacques Chirac, then Minister of Agriculture, passed a decree conferring the status of first growth upon Mouton-Rothschild in 1973. At last the wrong had been righted, and from then on Mouton's labels bore a new inscription, 'Premier je suis, second je fus. Mouton ne change,' or 'First I am, second I was. Mouton does not change'."

The enticing aromatics have a citrusy lift, with orange peel and incense, like drinking a Persian rug. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2008 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, (90-93ST), 93WS, 92WE, 90CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a big wine loaded with black fruit, cedar, licorice, grilled herbs and tar. Layers of flavor build effortlessly to the muscular, virile finish. Despite its size, the 2008 Reserve maintains elements of classicism that serve to balance some of the wine’s more extroverted leanings. The wine impresses for its depth, expressive inner perfume and beautifully integrated tannins. It is a showstopper from Mondavi. The 2008 Reserve is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2028. (AG)" (12/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 96JS, 96WS, 94ST, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest wine ever made by proprietors Daniel and Florence Cathiard, the 2009 Smith-Haut-Lafitte exhibits an opaque blue/purple color in addition to a glorious nose of acacia flowers, licorice, charcoal, blueberries, black raspberries, lead pencil shavings and incense. This massive, extraordinarily rich, unctuously textured wine may be the most concentrated effort produced to date, although the 2000, 2005 and 2010 are nearly as prodigious. A gorgeous expression of Pessac-Leognan with sweet tannin, emerging charm and delicacy, and considerable power, depth, richness and authority, it should age effortlessly for 30-40+ years. Bravo!" Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac (97RP, 95JS, (89-92ST), 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Merlot, it displays an inky/blue/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, forest floor, licorice, lead pencil, cedar and subtle barrique smells. Viscous and full-bodied, it is the most concentrated and broadest example of this cuvee I have tasted in over three decades. It will be ready to drink in 5-7 years and should last for three decades or more. Consumers looking to maximize value should be checking out Duhart Milon, as this may be the single smartest purchase in this great and historic vintage!" (02/2012)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 94ST, 91CG, 91W&S, 90WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A sensational 14,000-case cuvee that is one of the benchmarks for what Napa Valley is capable of achieving. Its dense purple color is followed by copious notes of smoky barbecue, creme de cassis, white chocolate, blackberries, charcoal and truffles. Full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with sweet tannins in the finish, this 2002 has not yet hit full maturity. Give it another 2-4 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following two decades. I asked the winemaking team what the final blend was for the 2002 Private Reserve, and to the best of their recollection, the largest component was from Steinhauer Ranch (50%), followed by St. Helena Home Ranch (23%) and tiny percentages of Bancroft, Rancho del Oso, Chabot, Marston, and some Cabernet Franc from Howell Mountain. Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Lucien le Moine Corton-Renardes Grand Cru ((90-93BH), (92-93RP), (91-93ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The twin barrels of Le Moine 2008 Corton Renardes are even more tender in texture than their Bressandes sibling, as well as sweeter in their still-tart fruit (here strawberry, cherry, and rhubarb). Brown spices, browned butter, and hints of caramel make for an appealing cookie dough-like aspect on this wine’s subtly creamy and palpably dense yet buoyant palate. Nor are herbal or floral nuances entirely neglected in the complex performance. A smoky, Latakia-like note graces this wine’s long finish. I suspect 12-15 years will prove a sufficiently conservative estimate of its potential. (DS)" (06/2010)

1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan (95RP, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This vintage is aging at a glacial pace and the tannins are currently more significant than their counterbalancing components of fruit and glycerin. While the word “potential” seems to be the most positive descriptor for this vintage, there are some nagging doubts about whether all the tannins will melt away and the fruit will hold. As in most 1995s, the color remains a healthy dark plum/purple. One of the bigger wines of the vintage, the ripe, powerful Merlot component has buttressed the Cabernet elements, giving the wine plenty of body, tannin and La Mission’s classic asphalt, cassis, blackberry, smoky barbecue, meaty notes intermixed with a hint of hot rocks. The 1995 is still a young wine and I am beginning to wonder if this vintage overall will resemble 1975 rather than something with more charm? Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035?. (95+) (RP)" (08/2012)

Of the 2002 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos",Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar writes: "Very pale, green-tinged color. Reticent, somewhat reduced, soil-driven aromas of crushed stone, petrol and lime blossom. Extremely primary today, but already hinting at great incipient complexity, with notes of talc, citrus skin, white flowers and white pepper. Dense and fat with sheer extract; a real mouthful of liquid minerals. Superconcentrated, seamless and penetrating. " (07/2004)

Of the 2011 Bedrock Wine Co. "Papera Ranch" Russian River Valley Zinfandel,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2011 Zinfandel Papera Ranch emerges from the glass with sweet dried cherries, mint, tobacco and spices. It is fascinating to taste the Papera next to the Saitone as the parcels are adjacent. The Papera has a slightly more dried out profile in its fruit and tons of spiciness, while the Saitone is more overtly floral, silky and vibrant. In 2011, the Papera is all about textural elegance, silkiness and finesse. This site was planted in 1934 almost exclusively to Zinfandel. (AG)" (04/2013)

Its licorice, black cherry syrup, and chocolate chip cookie dough-scented nose leads to a hugely powerful, medium to full-bodied character.
